Guest guest
Hi, Close to 30 years ago, I got my Harrington rod. I never had any difficulty until about a year and a half ago, when I suffered a severe muscle spasm in my left rotator cuff. Since then, the muscles throughout my back, neck, shoulders, hips and legs have tightened up. It is most distressing. I have tried many physical therapies, but they have only provided temporary relief. I'm not acutally sure that the muscle spasms are related to my scoliosis, however, I'm wondering if there is anybody out there who has had a similar experience, what you have done about it, and whether you have gotten any relief. Guest guest
The muscles in my back, neck, hips, etc. used to be extremely tight also. The doctor once teased me about being a football player because my trapezii were so tight. I have found the greatest relief from getting a full-body massage once a week. I have been doing this for about 3 years it has helped tremendously. I also have fibromyalgia which causes muscle tightness and soreness. My massage therapist has even noticed a difference in my muscles. They do not stay as tight as they used to and they will also relax easier when she works on them. It has also cut down on the amount of pain medication I have had to take. It costs me $30 a week but it is well worth it.
