Llinda honey if I could quit I would quit, I've been trying for years - I really can't afford to smoke ($7.10/pack x 31 days = $310/month) but I can't seem to quit either. It's the only vice I have left - I don't drink, do drugs or sleep around, I need one vice just to know I'm alive.

I only have 10 more weeks to

go on tx, if the cough doesn't improve after stopping then I will see the specialist again.

They also started field burning yesterday. So far only a small amount of smoke has blown my way but that will change. I have been cautioned to stay indoors with windows closed.. ya right. So.... I am feeling a bit low today. Will bounce back just fine, but for now I need a pacifier. Speaking of Pacifiers... SuZie, Gail, Deb, Liz, and who ever else I'm not remembering that still smokes... QUIT IT NOW! Shit, I quit over 7 years ago thinking I was saving myself. Should never have started of course, but why didn't I quit sooner!

, this sounds like one of the " small " slips that is pretty easily

repaired by an unfill and rest period, allowing the stomach to go back into a

good position by gravity. They rarely require a surgical repair.

Let;s see what your surgeon says. It would be good if you could get a copy of

that fluoro to take with you to show your surgeon.

This is a good example why any new reflux NOT associated with a new fill should

be checked out. With small slips, the symtoms are mild and subtle. You found

this VERY early, thanks to this kind doc. It's only the MAJOR slips that cause

sudden inability to eat or drink at all.

This is also a good example of why a periodic fluoro - every 6-12 months or so -

is a good idea. They can pick up small problems before they become big problems.

However, I don't think a fluoro with every single fill, as the Mexican docs

want, is a good idea - they are not needed this often, they do not tell enough

about a fill to warrant the radiation exposure, and NO radiation is entirely

safe.

There is more about this type of slip in the document in the files called " Band

slips " .

We just don't know why some slips happen. Most are from having a too-tight fill,

though. Please don't worry too much. It's very likely yhis will repair itself

with the unfill and rest period. Continue to follow the band rules and meal

sizes, and there is no reason to regain , and still be far more active this

summer!!

Please let us know what your surgeon thinks.
