Does anyone take these from Nature's Sunshine? A lady recommended them to

me and said she took them during pregnancy. They do have ginger in them,

and that does worry me. This seems like a lot of herbs unfamiliar to me,

I'm not sure what they are and if they are safe.

LIVER BALANCE, CHINESE

Liver Balance, Chinese [Digestive, Nervous] is a Chinese combination of 12

herbs designed to support the needs of a stressed wood constitution. The

Chinese call this formula tiao he, which can be translated to mean

" harmonizing. " In Traditional Chinese Medicine, it is used to support both

the digestive and nervous systems, optimizing liver health and reducing

stress. Its primary herbs-scute, peony, bupleurum and atractylodes-have been

used traditionally to maintain normal nervous system function during mental

stress and support the upper digestive system during tension and distress.

It contains:

Bupleurum root

Peony root

Typhonium flagelliforme

Cinnamon twig

Dang gui root

Fushen plant

Scute root

Zhishi fruit

Atractylodes rhizome

Panax ginseng root

Ginger rhizome

Licorice root

Take 4 capsules with a meal twice daily.

Psalm 127:3

Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his

reward.

4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.

5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be

ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

Proverbs 3: 5-6

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own

understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy

paths.

Happy moments, PRAISE GOD.

Difficult moments, SEEK GOD.

Quiet moments, WORSHIP GOD

Painful moments, TRUST GOD.

Every moment, THANK GOD.

Chinese herbs are no stronger than any other herbs on the planet. All

indigenous herbal healing methods contain very strong herbs. All the herbs in

this formula are very safe. Harmonizing is the most used treatment method in

TCM, and also the least forceful. Why would ginger worry you? Nature's

sunshine is a network marketing company. People who get involved tend to be a

bit zealous sometimes. You should be able to find a similar patent formula at

your chinese herb store for a fraction of the cost. -Dave

Well the only reason I am worried about ginger is because in my Prescription

for Nutritional Healing book and various places on the internet it says to

avoid ginger if you have gallstones. Then after not having an attack for 3

weeks I took new vitamins that had ginger juice in them and had 3 attacks, 7

attacks since then in 3 days.

In fact I just got back from the hospital. The attacks were just coming too

often and worrying me - I Was in tears half the day from the pain. Nothing

is inflamed or infected, I got my ultrasound. The guy said I had A LOT of

stones, and I asked how many - he counted and there were only 24. I Was

expecting him to say 100 or more. There were only 24 small ones.

That is still a lot more than comfortable! It could be that the vitamins are

stimulating a detox reaction. Not a bad thing just unbearable. Easy for me to

say, right? Try to keep the muscle relaxed.

Traci,

Are you juicing? If not, try juicing and eating extra healthy at this time. You

are doing the right thing by c hecking the books on what not to eat. Just follow

the good advice you are finding.

It is not the herbs.. it is the chinese medicinal concoctions. I have a very

close friend that is certified in Chinese medicine. She swears by the methods,

but also says to be very careful when starting with Chinese herbal remedies

because of their strength.

TCM is very effective. Having been developed over 5 thousand years of necessity

amongst other things. Their concoctions (formulas) are very effective for their

specific purposes and while some use toxic substances to produce a desired

effect, non of those are used in this particular one. Chinese formulas are no

" stronger " than any other properly put together formulas from other herbal

modalities. -Dave
