Hello Everyone,

Today is my one year Lapband over RNY revision bandiversary. A

little history for that need a refresher.I had open RNY 6-26-01

starting weight of 315.I lost 150 pounds bringing my weight down to

165 for a very brief moment.I never reached my goal weight of 136.I

started regaining and discovered I had an enlarged stoma, small leak

into my old stomach and my intestine was serving as stomach.I

regained 70 pounds before my revision surgery.I was to have a

revision surgery that consisted of making my pouch smaller, bypass

more intestine and fix my stoma and leak.

I went in on Dec.5,06 and I woke with a lapband placed over my

RNY with nothing else done...I was surprised as my Dr. never

discussed this option with me.My starting weight at time of banding

was 235.As of today 1 year later I weigh in at 164.5 just slightly

lower than my all time lowest weight. My goal is still 136 but I

will adjust that goal as I lose more weight I may feel more

comfortable at a different weight. I have about 30 pounds to go.I

believe I can make my goal.I knew nothing about Lapband prior to

recieving it and feel I have done really well especially considering

this was a revision surgery not an original. Most revisions lose at

a slower rate so I am very happy.I am overall very happy with my

band and would recommend banding as an option for revisions and as a

primary WLS. At times I wish I would have started my journey with

the band rather than the RNY as I health issues now due to my RNY.

Who really knows how things would have turned out..Maybe better

maybe not..I am just very happy to get some of this excess weight

off and gain more confidence.I still have many health issues that

didn't resolve themselves but I have alot to be thankful for.
