Guest guest
I'm sure I'll have heard (read) the answers I'll get, but here's my situation: For the last two weeks of my 1st year I had decided to revert to the pre-op liquid protein diet my doctor had prescribed. 1) to break a long plateau 2) to give my stoma a rest (I'd had issues since my last fill in Feb.) 3) to get portion size back under control 4) to break the habit of eating in the evening and 5) to hopefully lose some more weight All of these goals were accomplished in those two weeks. I started to lose, I have only had 1 slime episode since, I am now eating much smaller portions of the right kinds of foods, I have not had anything past 7pm, going to bed at 11pm or later, and I lost 13 pounds in those two weeks. This brought my 1 year total to 88 pounds lost. From 367 to 279, I still had far to go, but had new motivation. I was so excited to begin my 2nd year with a losing trend and with all the band eating rules back in place. I've been back on foods just 4 days and have gained back 5 pounds already. I know people will say it's water weight, but seriously, it doesn't matter what it is, my mind sees it as failure. I fight to make myself eat now. I'm not actually hungry, and I wonder with each bite how much it's going to make me gain. I know I need to eat to lose and stay healthy, but it's depressing to try so hard and see the scale go the wrong way. I know there will be some that say don't weigh, but that casues me more stress. Not knowing is worse than knowing for me. I'm tempted to just go on liquid protein, but know that's not healthy, nor would I be able to keep that up for more than the two weeks without resulting to bad liquids. Okay, now that I have rambled, and stated all my excuses, what do some of you long time banded experts have to say? By the way, I do exercise too. I go to curves at least three days a week, and I do a little bit of weights at home. I also get my water in. Thanks ahead of time for all your advice. O. banded 7/21/06 367/284/under 200 someday!
