Cute I would crush the tablet and not necessarily take all of it. I think I could handle the taste. I just wonder about the absorption that kind of thing. Guest guest
Hi Abbe, What would be your reasoning for wanting to take iodoral sublingually? There is Lugols solution that is liquid. I havent tried it, but understand it is just as unpallitable.... Michiganladybugsandbees <ladybugsandbees@...> wrote: That I don't know. B.My Ebay Auctions: http://tinyurl.com/o9nqvLIKE SOY CANDLES? But, either it or something in my body chemistry that interacts with it literally shuts my digestive system down. The thought came to me that taken sublingually this might not occur. I havent tried it, but understand it is just as unpallitable.... Dr. Derry always suggested taking it in a glass of orange juice. Milk probably covers up the taste best of all, as most people probably couldn't tell if it was present. It's not so bad you can't simply put it in water, if you really want to. (I have two shelves full of different medicines and supplements and another on the way. I read on this list the experience of a number of people who had this digestive problem with Iodoral and they had the same problem with Lugols. Someone has reported better luck with small doses of Iosol. I have a few more things to try before trying Iosol. Also I have read conflicting statements about the availability of Lugols as well as its strength. I took a very small piece of Iodoral and put it under my tongue a short time ago. It took 40 minutes to dissolve during which I experienced a calm come over me. There was only a faint taste of iodine, not bad at all. Thank you, Abbe __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Abbe, I've never heard anything specific on taking Iodoral sublingually. I suspect the tablet was formulated to be absorbed from the intestines. I know it has a special coating. You might want to contact Hakala who designed the tablet (Lynne should have the contact info) and ask him your question. If you do, be sure to let us know what you discover. Thanks. The advantage I see to Lugol's is going to be the price. Yes, some people will do quite a lot to avoid the taste. Even though, it's barely detectable in milk. I'm not sure, but I think Lugol's also has a price advantage over Iosol. Iosol is the one you mix up in so much water for a dose, you take a teaspoon, and then you're supposed to throw the rest of the mixture away. I'm not sure if that's necessary, but that's when it becomes expensive. If you could save the mixture, which they say you shouldn't, then it would be economical. Lugol's is 85% distilled water 10% potassium iodine and 5% iodide. There's no conflict in the strength of real Lugol's Solution. However, some products like " Globals Lugols " appear to be watered down. It does not have the percentages on the label. So, read the label before buying any. And if it doesn't stain when you apply it to skin, it's watered down. >I took a very small piece of Iodoral and put it under >my tongue a short time ago. I know some people seem obsessed with taking things sublingually. However, if a product isn't meant to be taken that way I'm not sure it has that great an advantage. I've tried taking my Armour sublingually, doesn't seem to make a difference, which isn't a surprise since it was meant to. I do chew it because Ray Peat mentioned it had a different polymer than it used to, and is better absorbed when chewed. I can't tell the difference, but do it anyway.
