Hi,

One doesn't need to be a victim to speak out against injustice. My

son is adopted, so technically I didn't " have " and autistic child

(besides no matter how much I try, I haven't been able to get

pregnant. Maybe I've picked the wrong women. ;-). I don't consider my

son to be any less my child, however. In some respect, I have adopted

all autistic children as my own. All it takes is a love for children

and the truth. I wouldn't wish first hand knowledge of autism on

anyone, even the likes of Offit or Bush.

It seems to me that, even if you had " picked the right women, " no matter how

hard you tried, you simply weren't going to get pregnant. I presume that it is

something in your being male that makes getting pregnant such an impossibility

for you. :)

Seriously, your thoughts about not needing to be a victim to speak out against

injustice and needing only love and the truth to do so are right on--and say a

lot about you. I've been following the discussions for a while now, but never

before had responded to any messages. The comments in this one made me feel a

desire to do so, as they gave me an opportunity to compliment and thank you for

all that you already do in that regard.

Thanks from a very grateful parent of a beautiful four year old autistic son,

I wouldn't wish autism on ANY child, myself... however, I would love it if Bush

or Offit

suddenly found themselves having to care for an autistic child... and felt

compelled to

cross over from the dark side...

I have been telling many people in Australia about EOH. I'm just not able to respond to the woman's claim, that's all. Kitty,

I checked the Cochlear Community website and Kara is indeed my regional manager.

I also looked on Cochlear's website for the subscription information for the

Nucleus Forum, but can't find it.
