Genetic Hearing Loss

Something interesting..... My sister and I were estranged for 7 years. We

began speaking about 4 months ago. On the first conversation I told her that I

now hear with a Cochlear Implant, so I may miss some of her words. Her reply,

" Oh, I have two! " My hearing loss was a gradual decline over the last 15 to 20

years. She woke up one morning and could not hear. She had the surgery for her

first implant a month later, and the second implant a year later. We both have

the same implant - Cochlear Freedom in brown.

Well, they say sisters have a special bond. We have two brothers, so far they

only have " selective " hearing loss.
