Guest guest
The person to best answer your questions about drug interactions would by your pharmacist. I've found that they know way more than most doctors do about the drugs we use. Barbara Over The Counter Meds Hi Everyone.. Does anyone know why we should not take Tagamet (acid reducer) while on this med? I was really kind of surprised by that....now I guess I need to check to see if it's alright to use Pepcid?! Anyway....I got my information from the profile sheet that comes along with the lexapro from the pharmacy. The only other OTC medicine I ever take besides aspirin, and vitamins, is an occasional laxative or stool softener (yea, I have some IBS-constipation, too) Speaking of that....I hope lexapro might ease that some, too!! Happy days!! LOL!! I appreciate any replies....and hope everyone is having a great Thursday! Your Friend, --------------------------------- Messenger with Voice. Guest guest
I don't know about the Tagamet but I've been taking Prilosec OTC for a long time and I'm doing fine. Before I lost my insurance/job I was on prevecid and I think that Prilosec OTC works better. I don't usually get constipated from IBS but I get horrible cramps sometimes, even to the point where I upchuck what I just ate. Guest guest
hey, they better, that's their job. I have really relied on pharmacists in the past to help me with even cold medication with my meds. However, I have a good friend who is a pharmacist and she says that there are so many drugs out there that even she has to look it up to make sure she answers peoples questions correctly. If they have probs. like that imagine how hard it is for docs. to keep up with them. ak --- Barbara <bjarrett@...> wrote: > The person to best answer your questions about drug > interactions would by > your pharmacist. Guest guest
I didn't know that. Thanks for that important info. I've taken Ibu. in the past and thought nothing of it. ak --- Sue Chapman <chapmn47@...> wrote: > I also know that Lex can't be taken with drugs > containing Ibuprofen such as Advil. Guest guest
It happened to me, that's why I had to stop taking advil. Guest guest
It doesn't happen from occasional use. But when IB is taken several times a day, every day for months at a time, it can effect the blood platelet formation. When I took Advil, I took it several times a day. I started getting nose bleeds. Then I cut myself in the kitchen and the wound wouldn't stop bleeding. Finally, my doctor did a lab test or 2 and found that my blood was too thin to clot up. so I stopped the Advil as per my doc. sc Re: Over The Counter Meds In a message dated 9/14/2006 12:44:05 P.M.
