Guest guest
, I'm so sorry to read your story. Remember, " recovery " is not synonymous with " diversion " . Only you know if it is worth it to continue with your board program. You are not alone. There are at least 15 other CA RN's here who have had problems with EtG testing. The BRN continues to believe that your positive test was the result of either drinking or knowingly, willingly, and intentionally consuming a food containing EtOH or being exposed to a hygiene/cleaning product containing EtOH. You know that is not the case. Have you read the WSJ article on EtG testing? As far as what is causing your positives and foods to avoid, we have discussed just about everything on this board. There is no scientific evidence to back up what we say, only anecdotal stories. Look over the FAQ's in the Database....That may help you. Don't be afraid to ask questions. The support, knowledge, and advice here are great! Lorie > > I am in the CA diversion program and recently tested positive for ETG > 730. I have been extremely careful of what went in my mouth. Guest guest
Hi and welcome to the group. I am sorry to hear about all the crap this test has caused you....you are not alone. As far as the cleaning products....with the new info on inhalants, I would believe it is possible, but, as with anything else incidental, there is NO research. Before my last positive I had been careful and tried thinking of what I might have ate or drank and could not come up with anything that might cause it. Since the info about inhalants, I am thinking that it may have been caused by the spraying of lysol in my office. I share the office with 4 other people and as soon as someone is sick, there is one that goes NUTZ with the lysol spray....unfortunately, that info came over a year after my positive so I cannot be sure. I know one thing for sure....THIS TEST MUST BE STOPPED...one way or another. Too many people have been hurt already and STILL are! Things have changed some, but as long as people continue to be treated like this, I feel that my mission is not accomplished! Hope you will find the support and some answers you may be looking for in this group! > > I am in the CA diversion program and recently tested positive for ETG > 730. Guest guest
--- Hi , The Puritans are at it again. Only this time instead of a Witch Hunt, they are waging a Secret Drinking Hunt. And the results are the same, innocent people being burned at the stake. Will we EVER learn from history? You said you had to change your " sobriety date " . Oh whatevah! Besides, " sobriety " dates are stupid anyway. If you have quit, you have quit. Why count days? And if you were addicted to something and you have a beer on Friday night, you are still " sober " . Sober means, not intoxicated. Now I guess if you drink too much and get drunk, you wouldn't be sober at the time. However, once the effects have worn off, you again would be sober. So everyone in the world would have to change their " sobriety " date wouldn't they? AA bastardizes the Proper Kings' English worse than I do. I recall one woman who had something like 5,432 days, or some stupid shit like that. She then proceeded to say " if I make it until midnight, I'll have 5433 days. DUDE, if you haven't drank for that many days, and YOU STILL DON'T KNOW if you'll drink today, then I say, GIVE IT THE HELL UP! You may as well drink if you're gonna obsess about it every day. Besides, this woman went to meetings 2-3 times a day, EVERYDAY. And after 5,432 days, she STILL didn't have a job, she STILL was living off of the taxpayers, she STILL was one step ahead of the bill collectors, she STILL didn't take care of her kids, she STILL was bat shit crazy. Soooooooo, it would appear that maybe, just maybe, her ass should have been attempting something else. Ya think? And be very careful about that " sobriety should be number 1. It is not an accident that this is part of the AA mantra. All cults attempt to extract you from your family, it is part of the brainwashing. For those who leave or lose their family, they become even more dependent on the cult. Of course it is important that you don't drink or use drugs if you have signed a contract saying that you wouldn't. That said, when a cult member or treatment professional tell you that " sobriety is number 1 " , they don't mean remaining abstinent. They mean that you attend 2-3 meetings a day for 5,432 days so if you're lucky, and your higher power isn't being an asshole that day, you can make it to 5433 days, so on and so forth. They mean following the herd with your head down, eyes closed and just going on blind faith that you won't be used and abused by the predators who frequent the rewms. You ask, " what use is this program " ? It is of no use to people who truly need help fighting addiction. However, it is the Goose that layed the Golden Egg for the multi-billion dollar a year trickment industry and a platform from which the prohibitionists spew their propaganda. Lorie will more than likely respond with a list of things to avoid. She is the smart one here, I'm just the agitator. BTW, how does prohibiting you from traveling to Europe protect the publik? Do they think that your drunk, secret drinking ass is gonna fly the plane? Or do they think that owl-kee-haul is easier to secretly drink in Europe? Just wondering. Guest guest
Hi , I am also in Diversion; am an RN in northern CA (Sacto area). Where are you located? What is your DEC #? Mine is DEC 12. I have had a total of 6 + EtG's, 260-960, unknown as to why, & they were clustered together between end of 4/05 & early 9/05 with negatives interspersed. My date was also changed. I am really sorry to hear you are in this situation with the rest of us. Hang w/ us; we are a good group & will offer you much support & all the info we have. Feel free to email me @ my personal address, marshadienelt@.... If you are a Tylenol user, you might want to rethink taking it. My personal opinion is that it had an effect on my + EtG's; I've had no more since I dc'd the Tylenol. Nobody knows for sure. THAT is the hardest part of all. Take care, Marsha jhartman32001 <jhartman32001@...> wrote: I am in the CA diversion program and recently tested positive for ETG 730. I have been extremely careful of what went in my mouth. Guest guest
Methylate-1. Also called methoxide. any derivative of methyl alcohol, as sodium methylate, CH3ONa. 2. any compound containing the methyl group. –verb (used with object) 3. (in a compound) to replace (one or more hydrogen atoms) with the methyl group. 4. to mix with methyl alcohol, as in the denaturation of ethyl alcohol. http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=methylated & x=45 & y=16 Tylenol and many other drugs such as Motrin are methylated. Extensive research is not needed to explain how Tylenol may give a positive, for there is only two ways ethanol can be eliminated through this type of intake which are urine and sweat, over 98% is through the urine after polymorphism. Guest guest
Go figure. I have been using IP instead of aftershave or cologne to close my pores after shaving. I haven't popped a positive with it........yet. I haven't been positive since I stopped using Tylenol. (crosses fingers) I have a pending result from last Thursday. My last positive was a 260 on the third day of a fast and no bathing other than the ocean. I was taking 1 gm. of Tylenol nightly though. I have been living on unseasoned foods and almost no hygiene products for over a year. I havent eaten any foods prepared by others. My Wife thinks that I use the cleaning product exposues as an excuse not to do any honeydoos. LOL. All my life I never suffered an injustice and I truly thought I was immune.......I am not. > > > > > > > > I am in the CA diversion program and recently tested positive > > for > > > ETG > > > > 730.
