About the Presentation:

In this lively, thought-provoking presentation, Dragonsani " Drago "

Renteria and his partner, Mantle, will help inform, educate

and enlighten us on issues that affect Transgender / Transsexual

individuals. Utilizing powerful images and healthy doses of humor,

Drago will share his personal experience making the physical and

cultural transition from female to male. will share her

perspective as the partner of a transman, lead us through issues of

transphobia and educate us on how to be trans allies. Guaranteed to

challenge the way you think about sex and gender.

This is one workshop you won't want to miss!

About the Presenters:

Mantle is an RID certified sign language interpreter who has

traveled widely with her partner, Drago, presenting on transgender

issues. She was honored last year with the Transgender Law Center's

Trans Ally award. She is a former board member of Female-to-Male

International (FTMI) and facilitated their support group for partners

of transmen for four years. She currently serves on Community United

Against Violence's speaker's bureau and has spoken to innumerable Bay

Area classrooms on queer issues. She also serves on the board of

Northern California Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf as the Vice

President. She lives blissfully in San Francisco with her partner.

Dragonsani " Drago " Renteria is a Deaf, Chicano/Italian transman who

is passionate about making a difference. He has presented to diverse

audiences nationwide on LGBTIQ issues. He is founder and director of the

national Deaf Queer Resource Center (www.deafqueer.org) and has served

on numerous local and national boards including the boards of FTM

International

(www.ftmi.org) and the Youth Gender Project. A speaker in demand, Drago

is adept at making his audiences feel at ease when discussing

sensitive topics.

Drago has been honored with numerous awards and honors for his

activism work, including

a prestigious KQED Bay Area Local Hero Award and recently as the Honorary

Grand Marshall of Seattle Pride.
