Guest guest
Hi again, Ted, My Freedom maps are all at 2400. My 3G is on 1800, which is as high as it can go. All of the maps are ACE. I keep switching back and forth between beam and adro in restaurants and other noisy places where there are lots of people. It's still difficult for me to determine which is best. So maybe someone who has had their Freedom longer can chime in here. I don't have any auto-sensitivity maps and no whisper on the Freedom. I do find the whisper good on the 3G for watching TV where it is quiet at home. The sound seems to get a bit louder and more clear. I don't have it on the Freedom as I don't use it often enough to want it to take up a slot. Hope this helps a little. I'm so thrilled to hear how well you are doing already!!! ) Jackie
Guest guest
Even thou the gal from cochlear said " don't use sensitivity " I need it all the time to be on. I'm mapped at 1800, but need sensitity because the background noise overwhelms me. I also have beam and adro, which I never use. Just program 1 with sensitivity and program 2, which is the same only louder because in the morning P 1 works for me, and in the late afternoon I switch to 2. Guest guest
Thanks, Jackie. I had the beam feature on for the past 4 weeks, but in three situations I was in, where I thought it might be useful, it only helped in one of them. I found the auto-sensitivity more useful in the other two. So I thought at this stage at least, beam didnt warrant taking up a slot, because it isnt always easy to get the noise behind you. I want to try out the new programmes with the TV and with music. I am also looking for some decent headphones. I tried some expensive ones that my son bought up here and they sounded fabulous, even at this early stage, music sounded good through them to me. Would you believe that I have only just learned that headphones have speakers inside them? Hence the difference in sound, the higher end headphones have better speakers in them. I always thought that the headphones just diverted the sound from the speakers/amplifier to the headphones :-) Ted F. > Hi again, Ted, > My Freedom maps are all at 2400. Guest guest
Ted, They want me to get use to the everyday sounds, which are too much for me, so I do use the sensitivity all the time.
Guest guest
, I don't think that is good................you need to try to get used to the everyday sounds. I know it's hard but you still need to try. Patsy
Guest guest
Hello Why were you told NOT to use sensitivity, please? I use it in shops and around shopping centres and always, inside the car. Guest guest
My set-up is: Programme 1 - Normal (everyday use up until now) Programme 2 - Normal + auto-sensitivity (I use inside car, shops etc) Programme 3 - Normal + Whisper (to be determined) Programme 4 - Normal + ADRO (also to be determined) I'm hoping that one of either Pr3 or Pr4 are better in making the TV clearer and music sound better.
