Ron,

OK.. First thing.. Don't worry too much about getting all the protein you

need right now. I had similar problems the first six to eight weeks

post-op. I lived on scrambled eggs and diced ham (one egg and a slice of

deli-ham lasted two meals), tuna salad, grilled salmon, etc. I couldn't

handle the protein shakes either and to top it off, I was lactose product

intolerant. Like I said, it took nearly eight weeks before I could get the

full 80 grams of protein in during a day. Do the best you can and things

will work out. Just make sure you go for the protein and liquids first!!

My steri-strips finally came off after about three weeks. Routine showers

finally washed them off without any real problems pulling on new hair.

Hi Ron,

You probably will not be able to get all your protein in for awhile.

Do not worry yet, you have plenty of time. You will see a difference

in another couple of weeks, just be patient and eat when you can. My

favorite Isopure is the blue raspberry, not an after taste, have you

tried that one ? Over lots of ice too, yum ! I do not care for any of

the other flavors at all.

Ron...

Your doing just fine on the protein...exactly what is expected at

this point. For Me...At 3 weeks the swelling on my stomach went

down and I could suddenly eat double what I could before...like

instead of only one egg, I could eat an egg, couple pieces of bacon

and 1/2 a piece of toast. It suddenly became much easier to get in

enough protein. Just keep doing what you are doing you have a good

protein plan going.

The steri-strips....Lets see...I babied mine and still had a few at

my one month office visit, which Dr. K promptly removed. You are

probably safe helping them fall off if your incision is looking

good...but a call to the office and asking their protocol would be

wise.

Ron,

Congrats on this new endeavor in your life...everything will (and I

promis you this) work out just fine...don't think about it too

hard...just follow the doctor's plans and you will get that protein

yesd...yes at this stage your taste buds and sense of smell are

EXTREMELY sensitive for some odd reason..BUT it does get easier..and

for me, in regards to the steri strips, they stayed on a very very

long time which probably is alot of the reason why I didn't ooze not

once..mines stayed on all throughout the hospital, when i got home

back to Houston, TX and about 2 weeks after that...but boy did they

itch bad..you are doing great..God Bless in a speedy recovery
