Guest guest
Carol, Is she taking super or complete tonic? How about raw garlic? Cayenne also (via eating peppers or tincture or in the tonic) Thyme is another (you can read up on it in the files under herbs and spices.) Also epsom or ginger salt baths will help draw out toxins. Guest guest
I have this info on poultice's: Make a poultice out of equal parts of Red Clover, Bentonite, Slipper Elm Bark Powder, and then 1/2 part of Chaparral, 1/4 part Poke root, 1/8 part Golden Seal root Powder and 1/4 part Activate Charcoal powder. Mix into a paste by adding a heaping tablespoon of above mixture with a dropperful of Tea Tree, DMSO and a teaspoon of ACV, apply and bandage. Change twice daily. When the infection goes away switch to using BF & C powder made into a paste or as an ointment. Realize that the reason there is an infection, is because the WBC are doing what they are supposed to do which is damage control. They are removing dead tissue so that new tissue can be placed down. They clean up the damage so that the body can properly heal itself. This is a good thing but can get rather nerve wracking with the pain especially if one isn't prone to staying prone for that long and dealing with the pain. He might even try soaking in hot tea. Very strong hot black tea. A lot of hot and cold on that foot will do wonders Also, packing the foot in mud or just bentonite will help heal the area after the infection is gone. Epsom salt soaks will help as will the garlic, cayenne. All the above will assist. Guest guest
If the antibiotic is that strong - she probably needs some sort of probiotic to counteract it and keep the yeast problems away later. She's going to be wiped super clean with a powerful antibiotic. Plus it'll help in the healing. Juices for the healing enzymes also and nutrients. Lots of extra Vit B and C. Guest guest
I would apply a Taro Root Plaster, if taro is available. Finely grate 5 parts peeled taro root, mix with 1 part unpeeled finely grated ginger. Add enough white flour to make a plaster. Put on affected area about 1/2 inch thick, wrap loosely to hold in place. Change in 2 hours, discarding the old one and the cloth used to hold it. Or it can be left on overnight. This will increase circulation, pull toxins and encourage the body to heal itself. If no taro is available, use a Chlorophyll Plaster. 5 parts crushed dark leaves of any kind (weeds, spinach, kale, etc - just any dark green leaves) to 1 part crushed mint. Apply the same way. Guest guest
This is from our "How to" files on poultices Poultices are an effective treatment for drawing out splinters and otherabscesses. A poultice is an external application of herbs -- fresh, dried, or powdered -- to the affected area. Many poultices are applied warm, althoughthis is not always the case. If dried or powdered herbs are used, they aremoistened with water or an herbal infusion to form a paste. If fresh herbs are used, they may be chopped, crushed, chewed, or simmered before applying. A thin layer of vegetable oil may be spread on the skin to prevent sticking.Herbs may be applied directly to the skin, then covered with a gauze bandage,or they may be contained in a gauze wrapping before being applied to theskin. Herbs that stimulate cell regrowth and healing, such as Comfrey(Symphytum officinale), Calendula (Calendula officinalis), and Lavender (Lavandula officinalis syn. L. angustifolia), should not be used until the foreign particles and toxins have been thoroughly eliminated. The kitchen offers abundant aid for drawing out splinters and infection. Carrot (grated, boiled, and mashed), raw potato, warmed cabbage leaves, freshtomato or onion slices, honey and oatmeal can all be used effectively. Honey or an oatmeal paste would be my first choice for splinters. Outside the kitchen door, if Lady's Mantle (Alchemilla mollis) is growing in the garden, its leaves can be crushed and applied topically. Plantain (Plantagospp.), generally considered a weed, may be found growing in the lawn or in any wild area. It is one of the best as well as one of the most readily available remedies for pulling embedded particles to the surface. The leavesof plantain can be chewed and applied directly to the skin. From the medicine chest, a green clay paste moistened with water or an herbal infusion can be as effective as plantain. Slippery Elm powder (Ulmusrubra) and Lobelia (Lobelia inflata) can be combined with Myrrh (Commiphora mol syn. C. myrrha) or Echinacea (Echinacea spp.) tincture to create a thick paste. Jethro Kloss recommends using one-third Lobelia to two-thirds SlipperyElm bark. He claims, "It is excellent to add Lobelia to poultices for abscesses, boils, and carbuncles...[as Lobelia] loosens disease and opens the way for its elimination from the body." The Australian bush flower essenceAngelsword (Lobelia gibbosa) belongs to the same genus as Lobelia inflata, and it is useful for treating similar conditions within the psyche. Anne McIntyre in Flower Power (Henry Holt, 1996) advises its use "for those who are influenced by thoughts and ideas of other people and feel confused, particularly about spiritual truths. It protects you from outside influences so that you can listen to the inner self and inner guidance both from past experience and present."Also,HERBS TO USE IN POULTICES AND COMPRESSES Cayenne - stimulating, irritant, external/internal bleedingEchinacea - disinfectingGinger - stimulating, warmingGolden Seal - infection, drying, drawing Myrrh - disinfectingSage - drawing, astringent, healingComfrey root/leaf - soothing, healing, baseMustard sore muscles, sore throat, enlarged lymph glandsPlantain drawing, drying, disinfectingYellow Dock root/leaf - skin eruptions, boils, stings, woundsShepherd's Purse - hemorrhaging without irritationChickweed - soothing, eye irritation onion - drawing, pus formationsCarrots - cooked and mashed, cysts, cancerous growthsCabbage - ulcers, varicose veins, shinglesPotato - boiled, mashed or grated raw/mixed with boiling water, inflammation, soothing, coolingClay - drawing', soothing, disinfecting ... simple to apply, easy to store, may be mixed WITH herbscarolG <cgiambri@...> wrote: Becky, Great thoughts on the poultice.
