That's a great mindset! It is so easy sometimes to blow off a workout

or meal at the drop of a hint of an " excuse " for me. It takes more

effort to stick to plan and do things right!!

Congrats on the new me showing through....

seems like my " new me " always wants to paly hide and seek... and the

old me pops out more often than the new.... what a battle... it is

like having two personalities..demonized... the " new me " is the good

girl trying to behave and the " old me " is the demonized one

pushing " new me " out of the way.... like those preppy gilrs on those

movies being mean to the geeky girls.... well i have enough fight in

me to fight back ,,,but i sure get tired of fighting.... everytime i

just feel i am getting the " new me " and the NEW ME then the " old me "

shows up again telling her to get out of the way... i think i need to

find me some good pics and put my face on the bodies like someone

said... maybe that will help on the fridge and in my car....

" new me " where arrrrrreeeeee Youuuuuuu???

That's exactly what I want to do, but I can't find a suitable body to

use! I've been searching for " curvy bikini models " - unfortunately

it's brought up porn websites here at work, and tried to put a virus

on my computer at home *shakes head* I really want to use a body

with a similar shape to mine, and I have really big boobs, small

waist and a big butt - so it hasn't been easy!

Hey don't you worry. I work at a gym and we always say, " Well, we

will find out who will still be fit in December by March " because

that is when all the halftruckers quit. So that is why all the

ellipticals were taken! It won't be that bad in a few months, trust

me! :) Just as long as you're still there that is all that

matters!!!

What I did was go to the www.myvirtualmodel.com

<http://www.myvirtualmodel.com/> website and played with the numbers

and created a 'model' that looks almost exactly like I do. I could then

change the weight and other stats and see what I will look like when I

lose 20lbs, 40lbs, 50lbs, or my goal of 60lbs. It is fun and gives me

something to put on my refrigerator next to my Before Pic! Good luck!

You didn't say exactly how much postop you are.. but I was not

supposed to even attempt to stand up straight for at least 10 days to

two weeks... you don't want to pop all those internal sutures do you?

It was probably close to a month before I was not " sore " all the

time.... that does not mean I was in " pain " ... just sore from the

muscle work.

cindy,

best of luck on your recovery. I had a breast lift 3 months ago and, from what

i hear, is a piece of cake

compared to a tummy tuck. my tt will, hopefully, be in january. my breasts

have been healing great.

the bottom of each breast is still numb, it's a weird feeling but will pass with

time. the scars look

awesome, they don't bother me at all.

keep us updated!!!

Well I am now back and banded. Boy the flight home and care ride

mixed with gas pains and a girgling stomach was fun.

I must say that my banded companions, and Ron were the best

to be with. We all survived with our own little " Is this suppose to

be happening? " moments. All in all we left with big smiles on our

faces.

Nina I am sorry I did not get to see you in person, but your mother

is a lovely person. She helped my husband find the best Tequilia in

the down as well as some of the best food at a place called Fusion.

I finally had to tell him to shut up as I was sipping my broth.

The staff were great as everyone has mentioned. I think our only

set back was we had to wait in the waiting room for 2.5 hours before

our rooms were ready upstairs. Of course we had to pick the full

house night at the hospital.

Now that the journey has started, I just feel so great about the

descision I have made and thus far have no fears or regrets (except

drinking some tea too fast). I will keep you all posted. Without

the board I don't think I could of done this

Loves and hugs

This is Ron and I must say for Tricia's comments: Ditto! Be ready guys, the drive to the airport and then the plane ride (try to arrange the best seating possible) try the first section past first class if not first class, this will give you better stretch room, and you'll want it. If you are fortunate to bring a companion with you to support you that's great if not I pray that all of you are as fortunate as I was, being the first to arrive at the airport the driver (Ernesto) I hope I didn't butcher his name but anyway, I was by myself and nervous as could be then he comes these wonderful folks we picked up at another terminal. Boy! What a trip up – quite different from the ride back and try to explain to your companions if you are lucky enough to have one; that last thing you wish to hear, smell, or experience is someone else enjoying a bag of nachos, chips, or any product of such. Here you are drinking Gatorade, you stomach is totally burping the gasses, you feel some like swallowing a golf ball in you smell these wonderful smell of chips and candy from the back of the van can be pure torture.

But back to my band-mates, what a team; guys you have no idea how much easier you made this procedure for me. You are all forever in my debt.

For you men! Think about it: women have babies and most have had children by the time they decide to go through this procedure, they have had their abdominal regions stretched and in some cases "C" sections that even more familiarize them with the pain involved. Me a 42 year old male – I was a total wuss, hurt badly the first three days then things got better. But I have never had surgery before and did not know what to expect. So if you men are deciding to select this procedure, unless you're a macho man the type who can jog home after a vasectomy expect some pain and discomfort the first week.

To duplicate what Trish has already said "Now that the journey has started, I just feel so great about the

decision I've made and thus far have no fears or regrets. I will keep you all posted. Without the board I don't think I could have done this, not to mention without; Beth, Triffany, Trish, and I may have just decided to enjoy a few days in San Deigo and went home, I was that terrified.

It's worth it guys go for it. Change your life now don't wait until it's too late.

Ron welcome back. You made me laugh a couple of time reading your post. Thanks for giving us a "guys perspective". I guess you are right, some of us have already had abdominal surgeries and knew what to expect. But I have to say I was a wuss right along with you since I couldn't tolerate the pain meds. Welcome to the banded side!
