, I think you need to intake more protein, it sounds to me like you are hungry constantly and I know by in-taking more protein that usually helps the hunger. I was going through something like that not to long ago, and I couldn't understand why I was at a still for so long but, I finally figured it out that I wasn't intaking enough protein or eating my protein bars any more and that was causing me to binge a little more. Substitute food with a protein bar, juices more water. I also have kids and a husband that I have too cook constantly, it seems like they are always hungry. I spend alot of time in the kitchen. But that is another story. I get through it by tasting the dinner or serving myself a small amount. Our eyes are bigger than our stomachs, even if I tried to get a plate of anything,

it would not go down. It's just not going to happen, so I don't even try. I don't measure my food but, I do serve myself a little bit of everything and if I eat it fine and if I don't I throw it away. It's okay if we don't finish our meals, it's okay to leave a little and have a little something later. You have to try different things. Don't think you are going to loose weight by eating all the wrong foods because it won't happen, our band is a tool to helps us loose weight, it doesn't do miracles unless we are willing to work with it. Work with it and get to know it and once you get your fill you will see the difference, be patient you will began to loose weight after your fill. , Be easy on yourself! You are still in the"healing" phase so take this time to heal. Don't even worry yourself about weight right now. It will bounce around a bit before your fill. Eat as best choices as you can, continue your exercise and be patient......good things come to those who wait.....just a little longer and your fill will be helping you lose. Relax, you have all the time in the world, right? Take Care..Dana

---Hi Thankyou so much for responding. I appreciate it . I

guess I just need to stop comparing myself to other people. I just

thought for sure at this point I would be down 20 lbs. I guess I've

been having a little pity party and I'm trying to stay positive It

just really does not feel good when you see the scale going up. I

should just stay off of the scale for a while. Thankyou I really

needed some positive input today. (I hope you get this message )

, Thank you for taking the time to write back to me. I think

your probably right I do need more protein. My problem Is not so much

of what I'm eating but rather the amount. But I know It will Get

better after my first fill. I guess I just felt like a bit of failure

because of how well everyone else seems to be doing, as far as weight

loss, And I know I have to stay off my scale and stop comparing

myself. I'm not sure If I can Have protein bars at 5 weeks post-op.

Doyou know? Any way Thanks Again. I really needed some kind words

today.

Touche, M. You are right on the money. Until the fill occurs, you

aren't fully experiencing the band. , you will see a difference. Be

patient with yourself and the band.

Hi , Most of us that have the surgery weighted alot more than you and maybe that is why you are not losing as fast. Don't compare. I am 5'1" and weighted 241. So that is quite a bit more than you, I have lost over 50 lbs but it has been almost 6 months and I have alot more to lose than you. The amount that you lose is going to depend on how big a person is so hang in there. When you get your fill you will start dropping the weight. hi cindy, i had my surgery on march 27, 2006 - my weight was was very close to yours on the day of the surgery - i weighed 190 pounds. i had to have 4 fills until i was able to get full use of my band through the proper restriction. i was down to see Dr. A almost every month for the first 4 months - in fact now that i think about it i might have had 5 fills. i too have lost very slowly. i was frustrated with my lack of restiction. right now i am at 156.6 and i was stuck in the 160's for what seemed like forever. but i also ate a lot of foods that slid righ thru my band. soups, etc. i am not saying you need a fill, but that it might take you several fills until you get to the place where you need to be to have the proper restriction. caprise Nadeem <jasonperry123@...> wrote: Hi , Most of us that have the surgery weighted alot more than you and maybe that is why you are not losing as fast. I was so excited to have this procedure done, in tears, that I would Never have to be on the weight roller coaster again, and yet as I sit here I think, Is this really going to work for me. I'm sorry . I'm P.M S..ing. I know I need to wait 2 more weeks for my first fill on Dec. 2. But Ifeel like I'm the only one Who does'nt seem to be losing alot of weight right after surgery. And I'm afraid as I wait for my first fill I'm going to gain it all back....sob... (p.m.s.) I don't Know why I feel alone in this. If any one has

experienced anything similar or just has a word of encouragement please let me know. Normally I'm the encourager. I'm not usually this emotional. Sorry Thanks for taking the time to read this. +Hi Cindie,

I had my band put in in June. I have only lost 30 lbs in the past 5 months. I an

going for my 3rd fill on Monday. I was frustrated to. But I know that I need

more restriction. I can eat almost the same amounts as I did post op. That's

scary. LOL....Now I have not been a very good bandster. I have not done any

exercise. I know that this will speed up the process. Just hang in there. The

weight will come off with time. Best of luck.

yours on the day of the surgery - i weighed 190 pounds. i had to have 4 fills

until i was able to get full use of my band through the proper restriction. i

was down to see Dr. A almost every month for the first 4 months - in fact now

that i think about it i might have had 5 fills. i too have lost very slowly.

i was frustrated with my lack of restiction. right now i am at 156.6 and i was

stuck in the 160's for what seemed like forever. but i also ate a lot of foods

that slid righ thru my band. soups, etc.

you and maybe that is why you are not losing as fast. Don't compare. I am 5'1 "

and weighted 241. So that is quite a bit more than you, I have lost over 50 lbs

but it has been almost 6 months and I have alot more to lose than you. The

amount that you lose is going to depend on how big a person is so hang in there.

When you get your fill you will start dropping the weight. Good Luck - Shirley

I had my Band on Nov 2. I lost 20 pounds on the preop diet and have lost another 20 since the operation. Of course, I have a long long way to go but I would not say there is no weiight loss early on.bgaroo <bgaroo > wrote:

Hi , My name is I know you will get a lot of input from your message. I have not had my band yet it will be on the 8th of Dec. but after all the reading I have done I have just made my mind up that before the first fill it's all healing time not wieght loss time!! that will come after your fill. I know it will all come its just a mater of getting that band adjusted to the right spot. Chin up and smile you are on your way IT WILL HAPPEN!!! >> Hello everyone this is .
