Guest guest
Hi : Thanks for the kind words. I am glad to hear you are feeling better now. I can't wait for treatment to be over either. Entering into the fifth day of treatment and the terrible stomach ache has finally subsided (Thank God!). But am having side effects from Meds like upset tummmy, awful taste in mouth and the real bad runs etc. I can't do the treatment pak with flagyl since I am allergic to flagyl. The one I am on has Prevacid/Biaxin & Trimox. I hope it does the trick. I heard it can be hard to get rid of. Dr I went to says if I am not dramatically better after threatment he wants to do an EGD to check things out to make sure some stubborn ulcers didn't form. I wonder why so many of us get this bug? Also found out I have low thyroid function. I am taking synthroid now. Just started today. Maybe I'll drop a few more pounds now. But I was reading my insert that came with sythroid and its says not to use antacids, calcium or iron preparations with this med. I don't know what I am supposed to do now. I was told I will have to take synthroid the rest of my life. So how do I do my tums & iron. I am going to try to contact Dr R and see what other patients do in this case. Take care
Guest guest
, Thank you so much for the advise. I thoughtI couldn't take them at all! No soy either? I guess I have a few things to learn about this condition. Hypo, is that what it is called if its underactive? Hyper if its over? How long did you take it before you saw a relief in symptons? Sorry about all the questions. I have an appointment to discuss with a Dr next week. MGB 9/29/00 Dr R 280/155 > , > > Take your synthroid first thing in the morning. Guest guest
Folks, If you are taking synthroid or other meds for hypothyroidism, you need to wait 2 hours between your vitamins with iron and tums. Also do not take your synthroid with calcium enriched juices.
