Guest guest
Please be very careful with " metabolism boosters " . If they contain ephedra or ma huang they can be very dangerous. Causing high blood pressure, heart palpitations and even death. You've come too far to make any big health mistakes now. Starting at about a year, I have consistently had plateaus lasting 1-2 months. Plateau, lose 5 pounds. Plateau, lose 5 pounds. It could have just been your time to drop. Jane 12/27/99 315/187/

A friend of mine who sells nutritional products gave me a bottle of an all natural metabolism booster about a month ago. It sat on my kitchen counter unopened. I got back from Florida on April 17 and weighed myself and I weighed 210. I was very upset and I opened that bottle and I've been taking 1 in the morning and 1 in the early afternoon everyday. I have not changed a single thing as far as food or exercise (actually I've exercised less since I got back from vacation). I weighed myself this morning and I weigh 201. Guest guest
Dear Jane, Yes, this booster does contain ephedra in a small amount, only 12 mg. per tablet. I would suggest that anyone interested please do your research by typing in " ephedra " in your search engine and reading the reports both pro and con. I did that before taking this supplement. I have no health problems and take only 24 mg. per day. The FDA has approved up to 240 mg. per day. I take 1/10th of the FDA approved dosage. It's not for everyone but it sure has helped me. I don't believe it was just my time to come off my plateau. Thank you for the warning. I will proceed with caution and I am only taking the product when things slow down to a halt. Guest guest
, I am loosing inches like mad, but i gained 1 lb. I work out every break at work on the stair climber, i walk outside and i joined the Y. I swim , i work out on the cloud climber, I live for exercise! I love it! I eat only lunch and dinner and a tiny, tiny breakfast of a tiny bit of oatmeal, i try to eat oatmeal for lunch and dinner protein first salmon or chicken, broccoli, salad. i know i am doing good on my diet and I am loosing inches so the number on the scale is just a number..i am so healthy and happy..that is what counts! my fill is at 6.5 and I rarely ever get hungry, it is just stubborn belly fat. i have lost 60 lbs. but in a perfect world i would like to loose another 60 and be 140 lbs. at 5'6'' that would be good..keep on truckin'...love, From: julie Kaye <kayleigh.n.me@...> Subject: Plateau buster Date: Saturday, December 13, 2008, 12:11 AM Sandy, First off...thanks for the reminder on the phone numbers. I completely forgot those are in my signature. I will be more mindful of that. How long banded? Since June 26,2008. what band? My surgeon refers to it as a " standard " 10 cc what fill level? 7.0 cc last fill? 2 days before Thanksgiving (sorry...I don't have my calendar handy) are you being serious about exercise? Yes, I went out and bought a exercise bike. I have been doing 3-5 miles a day (I can only manage 1-2 miles at a time... I am working my way up, at the beginning I was only able to do 5 minutes at a time) I was also doing an hour of water aerobics 2-3 times a week. Avoiding all liquid calories? Yep... water only (with Crystal Light) Choosing good band foods and not soft, liquid, or high-cal stuff? I am very mindful of what I put in my mouth. I do not eat anything that has over 5 grams of fat per serving. I also am careful of my carb counts. Meeting the 80-100 oz a day need for bno-cal liquiuds? Yes, I am. Meeting , pretty well, the daily protein, fiber, calcium, omega 3 oil needs? Yes there too. I have only lost one pound in the past 7 weeks. I have been charting on the daily plate, so I know I am not under estimating my food. I just have no idea what to do, I am so frustrated. julie

" . Just about perfect, as far as i can see! :-) I am not sure if you mean the 10 cc VG band, or the new 10 cc AP band - but 7 cc is a fair fill for both. It could be too little or too much for YOU, though - depending on if you can eat solid meats, with good attention to quality, nice bandster cooking, and chewing extremely well. You need to be able to handle meats, since the PBD is mainly (ideally) solid protein. Let us know if there are any problems. the PBD is ideal for people where you are. It should really jump- start your loss again. I've posted it in the files here, so please take a look. if you have trouble printing or seeing it, please mail me at moonshadow.Sandy@ ..com and i'll sen you a hard copy. for the the other Sandy too! good luck! sandyr > > Sandy, > > First off...thanks for the reminder on the phone numbers. Guest guest
, I DO care. So there is a bit of tough love here sometimes! :-) So - skipping breakfast is not good, and a rushed lunch isn't either. Losing is not th goal of banding - the goal is reclaiming our health. This means adopting and improving health habits! You're doing great with many of them - but i still have to give you a gentle kick. " 4 kinds of vits' are not needed, but ONE of he BAND vitamins and the other band supplements is a very good idea. please see the vitamin info in the files here for more. You've lost great! but we have all lost before, then regained becuase we lost in a poor way. to keep the weight off and not hurt our metabolism even more, we need to eat regularly, enough, and meet nutrition needs. FEELING great is always wonderful - but that often doesn't indicate what is going on inside with nutrition and health. that was just a little tiny kick! :-) Sandy r Sandy > > > From: julie Kaye <kayleigh.n.me@> > > > Subject: Plateau buster > > > > > > Date: Saturday, December 13, 2008, 12:11 AM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Sandy, > > > > > > > > > > > > First off...thanks for the reminder on the phone numbers. Guest guest
Hi, Beth - welcome!! Sure glad you found us! :-) I'd prefer to send you and work with you on the plateaux-buster diet when and if you need it. You're far from needing it now - it is for those with a good fill, exercising well, eating appropriately, and at least several months out - but stalled anyway. For now, lets help you learn more about your band and it's care, so you can do great an hopefully not even need any weight loss jump starts. You're doing grear already! Sounds as if you won't even need a fill for a good while, which is fine. When you can , go over some of the teaching materials in the files and links - some may be a bit different than what YOUR doc wants, so feel free to ask or question anything.
