Guest guest
HI everyone. Well unfortunately I'm here. My 2 and half yr old was diagnosed with a ctoma after his second ear tube surgery. The doc said something wasn't right and sent us for a CT scan and that it. My question is we have two choices the otologist in town who wouldn't answer my question about how many he has done. Just said I do surgery everyday and don't count or the pediatric otolaryngolist whos website says his special interests are pediatric otology. Dr in Birmingham. We have an appointment Tues and they want to do the surgery on wednesday. Everything has moved so fast from ear tubes to surgery will be 3 weeks. It helps that I am 8 months pregnant:) The thing is I am a PhD organic chemist so I know enough to get on medline and scare myself to death. The doc says its congential and localized and will be a 45 min operation through the ear. The CT scan shows no bone loss and we have no hearing problems so I am grateful the young ENT caught it in time. But golly gee why me. I am terrified about recidivism and everything. kris
