Guest guest
I had the tape behind the ear too. It got crusty as well. By the time I went in for my one week post off...it was starting to fall off. They took it off on my appointment, and no it did not remove the scab. Mostly because there isnt much of one. I am three weeks post op today, and the ear that I had surgery on is still sticking out. It goes down over time. I have really tiny tiny ears that lay flat against my head, so the first thing I noticed after surgery was how much it stuck out. It is completely normal from what my doc told me. Good luck at your appointment. Naomi Fisher <gateacher26@...> wrote: Hey everyone, I had my surgery Wednesday... so almost a week. I go Thursday to have some of this packing removed (thank god). Did anyone have the "tape" over the incision in the back of the ear?? mine is now getting "crusty" for lack of better words.... I am guessing/hoping he will remove the surgical tape when i go Thursday.... does it not pull off the scab? And secondly.... my left ear (the one with surgery on it) seems to be sticking out quite a bit more than my "normal" ear.... did this happen to anyone else? did it go down? was it weeks, months? Guest guest
I had my surgery on June 7th. My ear is just now looking back to normal (or close to). I didn't have tape on the back of my ear, just stiches. I still have some scabs on the back of my ear and also in my ear. I DID NOT like it when my doctor removed the packing from my ear. I don't know if it should hurt that much, maybe it was just my doctor-I haven't seen anyone else complain about it. Good luck, Dee > > Hey everyone, I had my surgery Wednesday... so almost a week. Guest guest
Yep and Yep, My ear stuck out for a while and then if flattened right down. Also the tape will come off fine. If it is really on there good ask him to put some Neosporin on the tape to soften it. Naomi Fisher <gateacher26@...> wrote: Hey everyone, I had my surgery Wednesday... so almost a week. Guest guest
Dee, Oh yes it hurts that much. I have had it out several times. The last time I asked for antibiotic drops to be put in my ear to soften the packing. That seemed to help. deewhite1234 <deewhite1234@...> wrote: I had my surgery on June 7th. Guest guest
Having that annoying packing removed from your ear definately feels better!!!! After the fact that is. He had a little bit of a struggle getting mine out. I went in the first time thinking I was getting my packing out and he sent me home for three days on ear drops to loosen it up!! I was so disappointed. He got it out when I when back though. >From: Naomi Fisher <gateacher26@...> >Reply-cholesteatoma >cholesteatoma >Subject: Re: Post Surgery Question... >Date: Tue, 27 Jun 2006 22:40:17 -0700 (PDT) > >Dee and Tina, > Thanks so much for the info... the packing inside my ear is starting to >drive me crazy today... i just want to pull it out myself (which i am not >) How much packing did your Dr take out from the ear canal? did it feel >alot better? > >Tina Hunt-Uildriks <colormyskin@...> wrote: > I had the tape behind the ear too.
