I had the tape behind the ear too. It got crusty as well. By the time I went in for my one week post off...it was starting to fall off. They took it off on my appointment, and no it did not remove the scab. Mostly because there isnt much of one. I am three weeks post op today, and the ear that I had surgery on is still sticking out. It goes down over time. I have really tiny tiny ears that lay flat against my head, so the first thing I noticed after surgery was how much it stuck out. I had my surgery on June 7th. My ear is just now looking back to normal

(or close to). I didn't have tape on the back of my ear, just stiches.

I still have some scabs on the back of my ear and also in my ear. I DID

NOT like it when my doctor removed the packing from my ear. I don't

know if it should hurt that much, maybe it was just my doctor-I haven't

seen anyone else complain about it.

Yep and Yep, My ear stuck out for a while and then if flattened right down. Also the tape will come off fine. If it is really on there good ask him to put some Neosporin on the tape to soften it. Dee, Oh yes it hurts that much. I have had it out several times. The last time I asked for antibiotic drops to be put in my ear to soften the packing. Having that annoying packing removed from your ear definately feels

better!!!! After the fact that is. He had a little bit of a struggle getting

mine out. I went in the first time thinking I was getting my packing out and

he sent me home for three days on ear drops to loosen it up!! I was so

disappointed. He got it out when I when back though.
