Guest guest
Geez Michele, You have TMJ as well. Well good thing for you it is mild case. I have a pretty bad case of it, get quite alot of headaches and I think that what also may cause the ear problems as well. Also in the winter, or when it's raining it's get really stiff too. And yes also under stress. Sometimes it gets so bad, I can barely talk or even eat. I wonder if there are many out there with it. Think maybe it could also be helpful to have a support group for that, but not sure if I'll be able to handle all this hehe, I " m having a hard enough time replying to other people Ahh well so much on the brain and not enough time for it all. Talk to everyone soon Kim > TMJ! A group I can belong to cause I actually have > it. Doesn't bother me too much at all. Guest guest
Hi Kim, Actually, I think TMJ is very common. I only found out I got diagnosedlast year when I had pain in my jaw. I asked my dr. how I got this and you can get it in a variety of ways. She noticed I had a retainer indicating that I had had braces on my teeth. Dental work can be considered trauma to your jaw because of they way they may have to manipulate your jaw to do whatever they need to do. What do you care at the time? You have painkillers. She also said physical abuse about the jaw can cause TMJ and she said it doesn't always show up right away. It can take years. That's how I figure I ended up with it. Previous to my wonderful marriage, I was in an abusive relationship for 10 years and that's how I figure I got it. It doesn't act up much, usually only when I'm stressed, then I start Aleve therapy for about 2 weeks then I'm usually good for awhile. gotta go. My son (who has tubes in both ears and boy does that terrify me) is in the bath and dad says he's ready to get out. Guest guest
Hey, I ahve TMJ as well! I find it really interfers with my ears as well- do you have that problem? I've had 3 cholesteatoma surgeries and inbetween those, I had my tonsils removed because they kept getting infected and causing further ear pain and damage. It was after that surgery that I got TMJ- they think my jaw was opened too wid for too long which is what caused it! Did any of your TMJ problems start with surgery? I have a bite plate that i wear at night, but it only helps a little bit- any suggestions?? Thanks! > > Geez Michele, > You have TMJ as well. Well good thing for you it is mild case.
