MSM and alcohol tolerance

Hello friendly group members ...

Well...I lurk but do not post. I have learned much from this forum; thanks,

all.

.....We have been 'talking' much of MSM recently...I have a Puzzling Question on

topic.

A couple-three weeks ago, my 63-year-old 'boyfriend' injured his elbow (using a

pry bar in some de-construction activity). He is not subject to frequent

injuries and is, in general, in Superb Health...doesn't take any Rx (aside from

an occasional recreational Cialis) and takes a good multivitamin and fish

oil...well, not every single day, but several times a week. I think he mebbe

drinks a LITTLE too much but I have been hangin' with him for going on two

years, and he is *NOT* subject to Outright Drunken-ness, if you see my point.

Anyhow...I started him on MSM for his elbow injury Friday...a gram in the

morning and a gram in the evening. Same Saturday. He said it wasn't upsetting

his stomach or anything, so yesterday morning, I ramped him up to 2 grams in the

morning...his elbow is causing him a lot of trouble and he is engaged in

building himself a cabin at the moment, so being injured is problematic for him,

and he and I want that elbow to Get Well Soon.

...

So....I went down to his job site yesterday afternoon and picked him up to go

out to PF Chang's for an early (5pm) dinner. He had three glasses of wine with

dinner and proceeded to appear to become ***QUITE*** drunk, which state

continued well after we got home and had an Early Night.

And then this morning, he said he didn't remember everything that had happened.

" !!! "

So I asked him, did he mebbe Happen To Snork Up some bourbon down on yon job

site, whilst waiting for me to arrive? Because I have seen him drink, yanno,

three glasses of wine and NOT become perceptibly DRUNKEN At All, hmm. He SWEARS

UP AND DOWN to me that he only drank two-three beers in the afternoon before I

picked him up...

....I TRULY don't think he is v. likely to be lying on this count...aside from,

perhaps he mis-counted/fudged and had mebbe four beers. I mean to say, I like

to have a drink or three myself, and have never been known to nag him about,

say, having a couple beers and then having wine with dinner, if you see what I

mean.

So ::: we are both more than puzzled about how he would become sooooo

intoxicated as to have a ***blackout memory loss*** after three beers (over the

course of an afternoon...noonish to 4-5pm) and then three

**five-ounce- " restaurant " -sized glasses** of merlot over the course of an hour,

hour-and-a-half meal.

The only thing I can figure would be different than any other day would be the

MSM.

So I got up and googled a bit this morning on MSM and alcohol...mostly, the only

pertinent bit which I was able to come up with was:

Aside from the above, I was not able to find any helpful information.

.....So my question today is :::: have any of y'all heard of MSM causing a

diminishment of alcohol tolerance?

We know that MSM changes (increases, normalizes) the permeability of the

cell wall. the question for you to answer us: how does a more permeable

cell affect alcoholic beverage ingestion?

PubMed has a whole bunch of studies citing MSM use and it's effect on

oxidation----------which has to do with what alcohol is doing in the body.

When you digest the food and it goes into the bloodstream, the Candida

steals it. So you don't assimilate your nutrition, the glands don't get

their vitamins and minerals so you develop allergies to foods, pollens and

fragrances. You also don't have any energy because the Candida is a living

Becareful, you may start doing strange things. You may go looking for fresh

fruit stands. When you find fruit-ripe off the tree, you want to inhale

them.

Rose, not much theft of nutrients occurs in the bloodstream by candida or other

infection. If the bloodstream contains more than a tiny population, toxic shock

syndrome ensues. This is very serious; can be fatal.

MSM is not a candida cure. Blood pH is always " normal " regardless of MSM.

Candida lives in normal pH conditions, and also in pH that is much higher and

lower than blood's 7.35.

Blood alcohol isn't sugar, and fermentation does not occur on blood alcohol

because it's a final waste product.

Following the last line, yup, reading myths may well induce you to do strange

things.
