Guest guest
And if I could just finish my thoughts on the subject of " Religious whatevers and get togethers " . I have previously stated my caution on the matter, and although I strayed a little to try and show how being too liberal can cause inconsistencies, I remain confident that you can see why LPA needs to abstain from affiliation to any one group or end up supporting them all. Its too bad some things get omitted just because someone doesnt like what was said. Here is another example. Many of these groups, as I stated from the onset, are certainly free to congregate on their own at LPA conventions. Why does it have to be any different than just that? Maybe its because these groups want the advertisement through LPA that they are meeting at a certain time on a certain day. These groups want to be listed on the official schedule of events at a LPA convention. Right? Herein lies the problem and where it could become a very troublesome situation. Lets say GBLA wants to, and gets listed, on the official LPA letterhead schedule of events. They are a worthwhile organization, which supports and is a resource to its members which fall under G,B, or L. That is my personal feelings on them. Comes now, say members of the Conservative Christian Coalition which are also members of LPA. The more moderate ones may, to provide guidance and values to their children, want to also get listed in the official schedule. Whereas, the most extreme conservative christians would dump LPA all together as they view GBLA to be a sinful sodomous organization. They would pull any financial support from LPA, to get it to stop using its resources to promote this group. Lets say though that LPA remains liberal and open, and includes the Conservative Christian Coalition on the schedule. Well now Im almost certain we have Jewish members in our midst. We go back to the moderate's wanting equality for their young people, and the extreme dumping LPA altogether. Exponentially you can see where this is going, please dont make me write it out. Pretty soon LPA is just a path for other organizations. So I just say that LPA should abstain altogether any affiliation or endorsement of other organizations. People are free to congregate on their own. And that doesnt mean they have to hide. It means they advertise their own " meetings " , and do it seperate from LPA. My rantings, LOL, as you refer to them actually contain a great deal of information as it pertains to the subject, that being LPA becoming liberal to other groups holding meetings at convention. When it goes too far is when people go to convention and reminicse about the days when little people got together to enjoy their company and be in the company of other little people. --------------------------------- Talk is cheap.
