Hi all, I had my tkr Right the 11th and haven't been on here much, too

busy laying around. How long were ya'll on pain meds after surgery?

I'm down to two mepregans(demerol, phenegran)twice daily. Should I be

off pain killers totally by now, what has been ya'lls experience with

this. The idea of not taking them before pt and before bedtime scares

me. I'm almost out though and am going to have to call the Dr

tomorrow. Is he going to think I have problems since I still feel the

need before activity or getting a decent nights sleep? Or am I just

being paranoid? The knee is always uncomfortable at this point, most

of the time not above a 4 or 5 on the pain level though. I guess its

really just like a deep bone ache more than pain. Would love to hear

how long those of you having a tkr were on prescrip meds and when you

just went to over the counter, and did you start taking tylenol, advil,

asa? I appreciate any input! Also how far could you straighten and

bend your knee? I'm still having trouble getting mine straight and am

bending up to 103degree right now, per pt. Is this normal at this

point? Thanks for sharing. Debbie

>Thanks for the info . I'm glad to hear I'm not really staying

on pain relievers too long, the dr gave me tramadol when I called today

instead of narcs., curious to see how I sleep tonight. My

straightening is getting worse, I'm at -25%, it scares me that its

getting worse instead of better. I'll keep you in my prayers, I

think I dread the second one a lot worse than I did the first. Mine

needs done but will have to wait for financial reasons, at least the

worst is done. Best of luck to you, Debbie
