Guest guest
Hi Margaret What suburb of Melbourne does your brother live in I am sad to hear that he is in ill health at the moment I am not sure how to lure Aussie to Melb but I can always get to Sydney ( only an hours flight from here) and I know we are planning a holiday to QLD next year (we'll try another holiday and hope I don't break the other leg) so like you say never say never This time of year becomes crazy for us due to work commitments and many social engagements (Melb Cup Day always gets an invite to a BBQ it is also our Wedding Anniversary) They tell me it is only 9 weeks to Xmas (bar hum bug) When are you going to Sydney and how long are you going to be there for? -- Re: Upcomong TKR and scared - now aussies meeting Hi , I was thinking about you when I wrote that email, wondering when I will get to meet you. It would be wonderful if the 3 of us could get together. This will be my third meeting of Aussie . Not bad when he lives in Sydney, and I live in Brisbane. I have a brother living in Melbourne so don't say never. He isn't well at the moment. I wonder if there is some way I can come down to you in Melbourne and lure Aussie down. Any suggestions for a good lure? LOL Aussie Margaret RTHR 1990 revised 2004 Re: Upcomong TKR and scared I can't imagine what it must be like to face surgery like this alone. But you won't be totally alone if you can get online. One of the advantages of being a group with international membership means that there are people checking their emails at all times of the day. If you need to chat someone will be willing to do it. If you want an aussie to talk to email me with your id and I will add you to my friends list. I don't know the system in your country, but when I was having my primary done I spoke to a friend about how my hubby always walked out on me mentally in a crisis. She suggested I speak to the social worker at the hospital, and ask them to visit me. I'm so glad she did that. I explained to hubby what I was going to do and he was shocked. "I keep away from you at times like this because you cope so well and I was afraid I would upset things when I was finding it so hard." We ended up supporting each other, and have ever since. I think we forget to ask when we need support sometimes. On Wednesday I went to a community development training. I had a little chuckle at one stage when the trainer was saying community development can only be done face to face. I don't agree with her. The owner of this group has formed a "community" and most of us have never met face to face - although I am going to see Aussie next week. Hubby and I are flying to sydney for a few days with the express purpose of spending time with Aussie . I wonder how many other people have made very real friendships by belonging to the group? Good luck with your surgery. Give us daily updates if you are up to it. Hugs Aussie Margaret RTHR 1990 revised 2004 Send instant messages to your online friends http://au.messenger. Guest guest
I guess I'll just have to let you in on my secret ... a large antique sale will lure me south every time. The trouble I face is that unless I drive my truck down and spend the 10+ hours on the road, then the cartage back to NSW means that I have to put a considerable mark-up on the goods when they go into my shop. When I was in the Army I could sometimes defray the flight expense ... it often "happened" that a defence need for me to be in Melbourne coincided with a big sale! I'm sure that the three east coast aussies will get to meet together one day. I'm looking forward to spending some time with Margaret and her husband this week. Yesterday I overdid things badly ... walked my two grandchildren way too far in their double stroller and even encountered some steps where the walkway was closed for repairs. I was in agony with the right hip last night but managed to anaesthetise some of the pain with the liquid contents of a bottle!Aussie >Hi ,>>Going to sydney Next Wednesday!>>When you come to Queensland you must tell us so we can meet.>>Feel free to email me privately.>>*smile*>>Aussie Margaret>RTHR 1990 revised 2004>> Re: Upcomong TKR and scared - now aussies>meeting>>>Hi Margaret>What suburb of Melbourne does your brother live in>I am sad to hear that he is in ill health at the moment>I am not sure how to lure Aussie to Melb but I can always get to Sydney>( only an hours flight from here) and I know we are planning a holiday to>QLD next year (we'll try another holiday and hope I don't break the other>leg) so like you say never say never>This time of year becomes crazy for us due to work commitments and many>social engagements (Melb Cup Day always gets an invite to a BBQ it is also>our Wedding Anniversary)>They tell me it is only 9 weeks to Xmas (bar hum bug)>When are you going to Sydney and how long are you going to be there for?>>>Send instant messages to your online friends http://au.messenger.>>>

Guest guest
Susie, they are 3 1/2 and 1 1/2 so they weigh quite a lot put together. I had a long hot bath when I got home, which helped a little. Now, the contents of the bottle ... well there was some wine and some whisky, I have to confess! I hope you've had a greaat day...
