Guest guest
Dear quique911 (), This has to be one of the BEST thank you letters I have ever had. You are going to make a GREAT pharmacist because you see the variance that background and education makes in addition to passing this PTCB exam. Because of this your expectations of the technicians that you will hire or work with or possibly train will be REAL and you will reflect this in your training and treatment of them. I am so jazzed to learn that someone found EVERYTHING on this site that they needed to pass the exam. I am sure there is something missing, but it does hit about 90% of what I know is on the exam. However I have always recommended a study book as well sot hat there would be something tangilble in front whenone is studying and itis for tactile learners , of which many technicians are. Your insight and acknowledgement the tact that passing this one exam does not a technician make, speaks volumes once again that classroom education along with mock labs and real life on the job training is the KEY and that we need to implement it NOW. THANK YOU for your acknowledgement of the technicians WITH experience and knowledge above and beyond what this exam can test for and possess. Your respectful attitude towards other technicians speaks well of your character. PLEASE stay in touch and keep us posted. Should you NOT get accepted at this time in pharm school, please contact me. I am interested in a project with you. Thank you, Jeanetta Mastron CPhT BS Founder/Owner of this site Pharm Tech Educator quique911 <quique911@...> wrote: Hello Everyone! This site is so awesome! Thanks to the many tutorials and wealth of information found here I successfully passed my September PTCB test. I passed the PTCB test without any study aids except for THIS website! And best of all it was all free! A little bit of a background. I am actually applying to pharmacy school this year and I thought that getting certified would look great on my application. I am currently working as a clerk at CVS pharmacy and volunteering at the inpatient pharmacy at a VA hospital. I first started working and volunteering at the pharmacies about 3 months ago. Even though I passed the exam, I am by no means currently up to the caliber of many other highly skilled and properly trained pharmacy techs that I know. My esteemed colleagues have a great breadth of knowledge of pharmacy and I have the utmost respect for them. If I do no get into school this year I plan to gain more experience as a tech and apply again next year. Regarding the exam, I seriously thought I failed when I walked out of the room. I believe my brief pharmacy experience and science background helped out a bit. But the thing that truly helped me the most was this website. Thank you Jeanetta and all the many contributors for providing such an excellent resource! Keep up the great work! Many thanks,
Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I have passed the PTCB exam as well and - just like - I am very grateful for the excellent resource that this group has provided me with. Thank you so much to Jeanetta and all the skilled Techs out there! Although I studied for over 3 months from 3 different study books, I feel like I couldn't have made it without you. Oh ... I have also found a job already. This is my 2nd week that I've been working part-time at the CVS right a few blocks from my house. I have been hired as Pharmacy Clerk and will be promoted to Pharm Tech as soon as I become licensed. This works out great because I am assisting the techs in my downtime, trying to 'steal' all their knowledge. I have to admit that it's not easy (this is a total change of career for me - I've been a Software Engineer for more than 10 years), but I do love the challenge and working under pressure. I guess I have been lucky to have found a job so quickly. I wish you all the same good luck! Best wishes & regards, Luigia F. I passed!!! Hello Everyone! This site is so awesome! Guest guest
Congrats!! Which online study books did you purchase? > > Thank you so much for all of the information on the site. I actually purchased one of the online study books but found the information on this site easier to understand and much more concise. I would recommend this site to anyone who was preparing to take the test, especially on a limited budget. I have spent the last 15 years as a pharmacy technician but lacked experience in a hospital setting and I was able to find and study the information I needed. I have not gotten my specific score yet but the word passed was all I needed. > > Colella CPhT > Tampa Florida > > > > __________________________________________________ >
Guest guest
I purchased Secrets of the PTCB Study Guide but actually found Janetta's site and Joe's site much more informative, not to mention interesting. Again I am very grateful. faithptcb <faithptcb@...> wrote: Congrats!! Which online study books did you purchase? > > Thank you so much for all of the information on the site. Guest guest
Dear Colella, You gave me goosebumps!! Thank you so very much for such a HIGH rating of this site material. I devleoped (95%) of the material myself with distance learnign and self study in mind with posting tutorials. I appreciate your displayed gratitude and discussion of the site. You are one of a few who admit to using this site mainly. May I place your comments in the Testimonial section? What a great complement, thank you so very much! Guest guest
Congratulations! I just signed on to this board and that is very encouraging to me. I can't find online affordable learning sites and this is a great testimonial for those of us who have to find a way. Can you share what was your routine or method using this group and what texts you used. > > Hey everyone, I just wanted to drop a note and say that I passed the exam!!! > > I took it at noon yesterday and was praying the whole time that I would do well *lol* > Thanks to all the people that helped me in this group. >
Guest guest
I'll have to get back to you on the text I used....I'v egot it laying around here somewhere but the name slips my mind. And as far as this group just ask any questions that you have and I'm sure someone will help you or guide you to where you can get the answers. The files section of the group has a lot of good info on things you need to study and all that. Her files are very useful, especially how to study the top drugs. I also had help from a guy I work with. He is a Pharmacist and wanted to see me pass and tutored me off and on. ________________________________ From: presphotini <presphotini@...> Sent: Sunday, July 26, 2009 11:57:07 AM Subject: Re: I passed!!! Guest guest
Thanks ! And Congrats again! This site is pretty much self-contained. Go to Files then Folder #5 for all of the Tutorials. The same in the Links section Folder #5 Study a study guide or review book. Study my tutorials. Then post your questions of material you studied that you do not understand. Lot's of how to's.
