Guest guest
My brother broke his ribs in a car accident. This was back in the 1960's and the treatment back then was to wear a tight binder. Seems the less you inhale the less they rub. Sounds constricting to me but my brother told me it saved his life when he coughed or sneezed. Good luck to you, I know its painful! Guest guest
I had six briken ribs that didn't cause any pain for days. After the accident I hitchiked from Quebec city to Halifax and it wasn't till I got home that there was any pain. The fix is little movement and bed rest, that's all. There are no tricks. Well you might try strapping it to control movement, but that's tricky too as it might not mend right. VCO will help keep you lubricated in the meantime. And beer helps too. VCO & Broken Ribs? Hmmmm VCO as it relates to a broken rib. Well - my wife carefully rubbed VCO on my broken rib ... and guess what? Nothing much happened ... [lots of laughs]. I was hoping that somehow it would alleviate the pain ... but to no avail. So - who knows of tricks to help ease the pain of broken ribs? The doctor has written prescriptions for me for pharmaceutical pain killer but they make me light-headed and I can't drive.
