Guest guest
I've never tried to meditate but I have my own way to work on stress, especially when I can't sleep. I remember one of the personal triumpants in my life, like the time I wrote a story for a journalism class and the next week found it in the paper. I go over the whole episode in my mind and remember the proud feelings and warm glow I felt when others praised it. This always seems to help me relax and counteracts the stress. I really try to focus on positive feelings as I think they are as good for you as stress is bad. > .. > I get very stressed and try to meditate but find it difficult. Guest guest
My extreme chemical sensitivities make me be on guard every moment I am in public. Most of the time, I think " water " . Just be like water, fluid, and go along with everything Even if something happens, react to it like water. Much of the time I spend dancing. This is the only thing I have found that allows me to be free. When I become one with my partner, my stress is taken away in the movement especially when I do not use my eyes, but rather allow my body to feel the movement and dance..my mind can become very serene in the center of creativity ...often I find that I become stressed because I am holding back a FEELING.. sometimes, I find it good to sit in the center of my sorrow or anger or fear and embrace it...then I can let it go and find new strength ..when I am in public, I meditate and become very calm in the midst of chaos.. Guest guest
Hi Sally I have suffered from extreme stress for many years but have finally got it under control. We all know that stress originates from the mind - as I believe all illness does. I have studied this phenomenum for many years and it has been proved to me beyond doubt that this is so. When there is something in our life that we cannot face, find too painful or difficult, the mind will make the body sick (or stressed) to take our minds away from the situaton. I learned all this from a beautiful spiritual book called 'A Course in Miracles'. All spiritual teachings tell us to 'go with the flow' - which really means to accept everything AS IT IS - and not try to fight against it or change it. If we can do this (and I'm not saying its easy)then we need never be sick! Anyway, I didn't come on here to give you a spiritual lecture but this is how I was finally able to overcome my stress. As we all know, stress also causes our cholesterol levels to rise and I just want to pass on a little tip that I hope helps. I recently learned somewhere about the benefits of Cayenne Pepper and the good effects it has on your blood. I'm a smoker, and quite a heavy one, and I recently noticed that my feet were quite often a mauve colour. This really worried me and I had visions of having my legs amputated! Not nice! I read loads of stuff about cayenne - especially how it thins the blood (there's lots to read on the internet). Its recommended that you start off with just an eighth of a teaspoonful in hot water (and brew for 10 minutes) and slowly build up to a whole teaspoonful. Believe me - it was awful but I asked myself what tasted better - the cayenne pepper or death? I got myself up to a whole teaspoonful and it was gross. Trying to find a better way of taking it, I decided to make a brew of black tea and cayenne and added some sugar - and do you know what - I really like it that way. My mauve feet syndrome disappeared on first taking cayenne - it shoots blood all around the body in an instant and I could see it working on my feet that quickly. So now I have one or two cups a day and don't have any more problems. Sorry - I've gone off track there! Cayenne pepper (the hotter the better) is also great for lowering cholesterol levels apparently and actually removes the build-up of it in your arteries etc. So - if you can't get your stress levels down yet - please consider taking Cayenne as it will save any damage in the meantime. And don't forget to 'go with the flow'! Best wishes > > Hi all > > I know certain foods such as vco etc are good for the heart but i > think the most important factor is to get your levels of stress down. > My father had a heart attack a few days before christmas last year. > He is in his early eighties. Guest guest
Hello again Sally Yes, you can put cayenne pepper on or in your food and its still good for you but I think drinking it has a much faster effect. I have read that a certain doctor who used cayenne on his patients never lost a single patient with a heart attack - as long as he was in the vicinity. I'm not sure if he administered it as a drink or straight on the tongue! Yuk! I'm sorry to hear about your back and neck pain and I know how badly this can affect you, both mentally and physically, having suffered with it myself. But again, I think I can help you there. I hope I'm not beginning to sound like a 'know-all' - its just that I've studied the art of wellness for many years and, at the grand old age of 62, I've learned an awful lot. About a year ago I had lots of pain in all kinds of places - in my head (I thought it was a tumor), the entire length of my thumb and half way up my arm (which was dreadful because one uses their thumb for almost everything), and in my knees. I have also suffered from lock-jaw since I was a young girl so going to the dentist was a real nightmare. Then I received a general mailing in the post - the kind you usually throw away - but this one caught my eye. It was advertising a Chinese method of healing that was a kind of cure-all. Apparently, the Chinese have been using this method for thousands of years but their methods were very difficult to learn and, apart from that, their secrets had never been passed on to the Western world. I have to say that the course (on CDs and DVDs) was VERY expensive but I truly wanted to be out of pain so it was the best money I've ever spent. Not only do their methods cure pain but all other kinds of illnesses too. The Chinese work on the theory that all illness and pain is simply a blockage which needs to be unblocked - which is done very easily. The teacher of the course is a lovely guy called Chun Yi Lyn and his motto is 'A healer in every family and a world without pain'. There is a website where you can read about his method - its called 'Spring Forest Qigong' . The URL is: www.springforestqigong.com <http://www.springforestqigong.com/> . I wouldn't recommend anything unless I'd tried it myself and I can honestly say, hand on heart, that I don't have a single pain anywhere any more. The fastest cure I experienced was my lockjaw - it disappeared in less than a minute and has never returned! There are two courses to buy but I find that I use the second one on myself (the one for healing others) more than the first one for healing yourself because it covers many illnesses and general problems. If you like the idea after looking at the website but find it too expensive, I could try and explain to you what to do in an email. Best wishes for a pain-free Sally! Guest guest
> Hello , I tried some today 1/8 teaspoon in some hot water, i let it infuse for 10 minutes. It was manageable. I read about that doctor as well as i googled cayenne yesterday. If the patient was unconscious how did he get it down the patient? I think he was talking about tincture which i suppose you can put on tongue. They say if anyone has attack to put 1 teaspoon in warm water and get them to drink and do that every 15 minutes. How on earth can you get someone to drink that if they are in middle of heart attack? And would you give that to someone. You would probably get sued if they didn't make full recovery. He was a doctor so probably okay for him to do that. I would do it for family though of course, probably best to have tincture handy. The gi-gong i have done before and do like those kind of exercises but still have to be careful. I had quick look at the website but not sure what it entails. Is it exercises or some other form of gi- gong? I do understand about energy blocks. I have done an acupressure course and in the middle of my advanced reflexolgy course. I've also done reiki 1 and 2. I find treating myself not as easy as treating others. Treating own feet for example hurts my back. I want to start a business in the new year offering holistic treatments. That is why i need to get myself healthy and hopefully with vco helping my energy levels and thyroid problem i will hopefully succeed. I'm going to use vco as massage oil mixed with other oils and of course sing its praises to anyone that will listen Sally > Hello again Sally > > > > Yes, you can put cayenne pepper on or in your food and its still good for > you but I think drinking it has a much faster effect. Guest guest
Hi ! I am a southeasterner and eat lots of chili peppers. I worked up from 1/4 tsp to full tsp and always got the 'heat' over my body. Actually red faced sometimes... I now buy cayenne 130,000 HU by the pound and then encapsulate in tamped 'O' size caps ~ 250 mg per cap. I take two caps morn and night. I do this for my blood pressure and blood sugar. If I do not eat right away (10 minutes) sometimes I get this upwelling of tingling heat in my tummy, almost like I am going to up-chuck. I also get some sweat pearls on my upper lip occasionally. It is a weird feeling but after dying down I feel great. Love Bob Adageyudi Staya Udanvti

Guest guest
Osiyo Sally! Hello Sally! Optimal dose? Too much?. Everyone is so different there is no set dose. You must experiment and take as much as you can stand, probably as much as a tbs three times a day until maintenance of one 'O' size cap ~ 250 mg twice daily. Expect your body temp to rise also and feel warm most of the time. I love it cause my neuropathy feet seem cold all the time. i also notice my eyesight gets better too. I have been taking a tbs of vco with everymeal and have found that if I eat too much of the wrong foods I will get a severe lethargic sensation and immediatly fall asleep for a short time.
