Guest guest
LPA is currently having discussions with the filmmakers regarding the use of the LPA name. I finally received the script on May 4, 2002, but not from Mathew Bright. I just completed reading the Final Draft version dated April 5, 2002. Concern may arise from the use of the LPA name and scenes at an LPA Convention. I'm not sure if LPA has signed an official release for this use. Another concern was the profanity being used by 3 LP children (ages 10-13) in the social setting of a dance at the LPA Convention. I'm still trying to get a visual of LP's dancing to the theme for Rocky. This made me laugh!!! Would anyone refer to their average sized brother as the " biggie " in the family? The medical conditions of dwarfism are inaccurate and misleading, ignoring the facts. This is further compounded by the birth of an LP with the " syndrome " . A dwarf doctor then indicates a treatment of bi-weekly hormone injections will be required for an extended period. It would also be advisable to lose the T-shirt with the " Mighty Midget " lettering on it. Overall, this story has no redeeming qualities. Even with Oldman and the other star names, it won't do very well. It does have Debbie Carrington and Bridget the Midget (the porn star), but they may do more to hurt it than help. Don't worry about this film making it to the big screen, since distribution appears to be going direct to video. Nothing to hold your breath about. This film will absolutely NOT be breaking any ground for serious LP actors, as previously promulgated by the writer/director, Mathew (not-so) Bright. In Love And Service, D. Guest guest
Tiptoes Description: Tiptoes Release Date: TBA 2003 Distributor: Currently seeking distribution in the USA. Producers: Elie Cohen, Hanley (Spun), Urbanski (Sin), Brad Wyman (Barb Wire) Cast: Arquette, Kate Beckinsale, McConaughey, Oldman (Rolfe); other cast not announced yet. Director: Bright Special Effects Note: (4/10/02) Oldman will be transformed into a " tiny person " using a combination of blue screen effects and forced perspective (a combination used to great effect in Lord of the Rings), as well as extensive makeup and costuming to give him dwarf-like features and body composition. Premise: This is the story of a young pregnant woman (Beckinsale) whose boyfriend (McConaughey), and father of the child, does not at first want to have the baby, but eventually agrees, revealing at the same time that he comes from a family with a long history of dwarfism. Meeting his tiny twin brother (Oldman), she finds herself falling in love with him instead.... (McConaughey's character plays his family's only " tall " person) In my opinion this movie doesn't sound too bad. I think its a good thing showing a movie idol like McConaughey having a dwarf child. And Brother. It shows that anyone can have a dwarf baby and the fact the baby isn't aborted is also positive. my guess is their T Shirt references come from The Prominent display of the exploitive, unlicensed, trademark infringing work of Dan Black. Just out of completely idle curiosity here ... If I show up in SLC wearing my prized " Real Live Dwarf " t-shirt, will I be lynched?
Guest guest
I made no such statement and assumed nothing. You are confused in your responses to people. I did ask for a chance to read the script and decide for myself. You did not respond to that request, but someone else sent it to me. I then read it. You could not have gotten me to perform in this piece of crap without significant revisions to the script. As for your opinion of me being an " rigid idealogue " , you are further confused by an intellect greater than your own who thinks and forms opinions for himself based on objectivity. In Love And Service, D. Kline, aka DwarfStar http://www.dwarfism.org Re: Tiptoes - Script Review You say I know I've compromised my integrity, mainly because I'm upset that some people are mad at me. Actually, you're assuming I've comprimised my integrity and that I myself am aware of it because I've taken the time to refute some of this stuff you've thrown at me. Fact is, I love my film and I'm both happy it's being made and proud of making it. I also think you're probably just a rigid idealogue by nature and that nothing is ever make you see my side of things, unless maybe I'd employed you earlier.
