Guest guest
I agree. I know that people can become psychotic as a result of these drugs. Watch for my next post! Guest guest
I didn't understand why they cut the warning off just at young adults. It seems to me that these drugs have threatened everyone that has taken them. I can see that anything like this would always threaten children the most, but once you start talking about the true harm these drugs cause, then why was there any age limit put on it? I didn't understand this. Also, on my local news I saw clips of two people standing up and saying these drugs had helped them. What's the story on that? I don't see these drugs helping anybody. Did I miss something here? I remember one of them was a young girl. I couldn't help but wonder if her father was a psychiatrist or in some way she was pushed to testify like this as the poster child promo for these killer drugs. Guest guest
I suppose it's small comfort, but I want you to know that it's people like you that I think of everytime anyone tries to push an SSRI on my son who will be 17 in January. I really thank everyone for their work on this and I want you to know how much I appreciate having my son when so many others before me have lost theirs. It has been too great of a cost. Every time I heard the news cast today and heard the people testify that a loved one had suicided themselves on these pills, I just shuddered and shuddered and shuddered. I just cannot imagine. This is gut wrenching. Merrie > My daughter committed suicide after 17 days on Paxil..she was 18. > I've been fighting this age chop off issue for a long time. Guest guest
Thank you, Steph. I just wish this success could bring your child back. I do so wish that. Take comfort, if you can, that when they threw my son in the psych hospital and terrorized me all weekend with their threats, I refused and refused and refused. The doctor's closing threat was, " If I ever get your son again, I WILL get control of him and I WILL give him these drugs whether you like it or not! " Burn in hell, doc. It's people like you that have made this possible for me. Thank you, Steph. If I hadn't been so educated to the harm of these drugs because of all the attention and work people like you have done, I wouldn't have known how very important it was for me to lay my life down against it, which I was prepared to do. I'm working very hard on my son now to correct his problems so that we do not get into this situation again. I will continue to work very hard on it until I get it corrected and then I will advocate with all my diligence against these drugs. Guest guest
Yes! Also lets not forget the insane violence these drugs cause. I think the warnings need to be extended to all ages. They also need to include withdrawal as well as real mania and psychosis numbers. This was a great thing but people still aren't safe. > > We did it, we did it, we did this one! Guest guest
Yes. Doesn't this just ring of " 1984 " ? It's funny to me that I just read that book for the first time this past June. People might argue about that book and whether it's future view has become real now, but I think those of us here will find it pretty much a mirror of what's going on now. Another book that forecasts this is the science fiction series called " The Tripod Trilogy " . It's by and came out in the '60's I believe. Particularly the first book of the series, " When the Tripods Came " is very revealing. It's suppose to be children's literature and that's how I got familiar with it as I was reading it to my son. Very quickly into it I realized that there was more than a children's story going on here. It's an excellent series--just rivating. Parts of it I will never forget and I'm not a science fiction fan. Anyway, the premise here in these books that really got my attention was the attack on people's minds so that their freedom of thought was taken away from them. It all began with watching TV--so similiar now to children getting hooked into video games. There have been great minds on this planet that have thought of what we now see long before it happened. We've been warned and I think we still are being warned. I didn't know you hadn't seen my original post about this madman doctor at the psychiatric hospital. Just a few days ago our local paper had a front page story about how children were dying in these homes and residential treatment facilities. This article wasn't even addressing the drugs. It was talking about other residents harming residents and even staffers having sex with some of the residents. I visited my son in this hospital once while he was there. (He was picked up on a Thursday evening and I got him back on the following Monday morning.) I tried not to look too obvious, but I really wanted to look around. Everything looked OK on the surface, but when I looked at some of these children, I felt awful. I didn't know any of them and didn't know why they were there, but I didn't feel that what was going on there was for their benefit. I kept my mouth shut because I'm not responsible for someone else's child, but I felt awful. As for this mad doctor being on SSRI's himself, I have a feeling he was not, though I'm sure many are. I just felt like this man was just evil. He wasn't even stupid. He was from the country of India and had a very strong accent. He truly sounded like the doctor at the end of " 1984 " that tortures Winslow to his end. I'm still very uneasy about my son, but I am very thankful we got through this. It has put a lot of added stress on my family just knowing now that I have to protect him even more. It feels like we have had a Jihad declared against us. Merrie > Sjeesh...sounds like some mad man from an Orwelian novel.. > No doubt on SSRI's himself! > You should be VERY, VERY proud of yourself Merrie.
