Guest guest
I am 48 and on week 19 of 32. I am on Peg / Riba tx. I am geno type 3a and virus undetectable since first viral load test at week 4. I freaked out this morning. I take ambian for the insomnia side effect and I got up at about 7 am to go to the bath room, as I was leaving, I felt dizzy. I get that from time to time, but I've never fainted. When I turned to grab the door knob I blacked out! I must have laid their for what seemed an hour. When I came to I started moaning from the pain. I finally made it up and back to bed. I must have hit my head good on the door frame, my hair is very short and you can see redness were I hit myself. And now I feel weaker than most days. Has this happened to anyone else? Thank you group. YBIC, Glenn hdhepper1 <grisley4@...> wrote: First of all, about 15% of those infected with hep C do not fit any of the risk factors. Your little example is quite a bit off center. There must be a blood to blood link, other body fluids do not support the virus. However, the hep C virus will survive up to 5 days in dried blood. The Gastro will probably redo the antibody test. S/He will also do a viral load (quantitative) to see if you actually do have an active infection. 15 to 20% of those exposed will not develop a chronic infection. S/He may do a genotype to help determine how long your treatment will last - if and when you decide to do treatment. When you see the doctor and s/he orders any tests, tell her/him you want a copy of the test results for your own file at home. This may save a lot of time and trouble later.
