Guest guest
, It just might play a part in it. Heat and humidity will tire you out. Humidity is water. I would think it's about like rain coming in and acts up on the joints. so far has complained about how HOT it has been here. In the 90's already here. She has been tired out to. I do know that the weather in the north is different than down here in the South. Here it can get so humid they put a warning out on the News to stay inside. Do not get out in the heat if you have any Health problems. The way it looks here right now we are in for a heck of a HOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT summer. Unless a cold front comes through. So each be prepared if your coming to Atlanta bring cooooool clothes. Yesterday was 94 during the day and it was only 74 at night. But to help with keeping cool you can always walk across from the Omni and run into the fountain lolol. Heat itself will drain the energy. For our daughter it seems to be the thunderstorms and changes in barometric pressure that caused her to flare, although humidity certainly was a factor when we lived in Illinois. Hope this helps a bit. Thank you soooo much! It was very helpful. I shared it with a few family members also that have " regular " arthritis. The humidity here is horrible! Right now it's 88* with a 55% humidity.. They just put our town under a heat advisory, because of the humidity rates rising. Guest guest
Hey Robin, Beat YA! We had weather in COLD Minnesota at 97 this weekend! It was wonderful, we spent our days floating on the lake up north! (Don't be alarmed, next week it could snow!) ________________________________ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Robbin40@... Guest guest
There are some kids (grown-ups too) that seem to be more " weather sensitive " than others. There has been quite a bit of study on the area of weather and its impact on arthritis. You can visit www.accuweather.com type it your zipcode and then scroll down and it will show you your daily temp and the impact it has on arthritis...it will show up as a color bar graph ranging from mild to severe...If you click on today it will give you two graphs that show both morning and night...I noticed here in Az the impact tends to be more severe at nighttime than during the day... Guest guest
, My experience with has been. Get a Pool and let them enjoy it. was in the pool everyday in the Summer. She also felt better. Aqua Therapy helps alot. Just keep your eye on her. No 2 kids are alike though so call the Dr and ask what to do. did what would make her feel better. If it was being in that water that's where she would be. If she felt better sitting in the swing propped up reading a book or listening to the radio. You could find her enjoying what she did. Tell to make sure she puts on a swim suit before going in next time lolol. Your doing good though . Your learning and you make good Judgements. HECK jump in the pool with her lolol. Guest guest
Hmmmm, I guess I would say to call his office first thing in the morning and let him know how she is doing. Aundrea also complains of heavy legs...Says that her muscles just feel so weak...it's always worse when she has been outside...Like she is just completely drained...reminds me of how I feel when I have the achey flu. Just after I wrote you I went home for lunch and Aundrea's face was as red as a tomatoe...Seems inflamed and warm to the touch. she was suppose to go the pool this afternoon with a friend but we had to cancel. I am perplexed. I guess its the sun causing this. Just not sure what else we can do about it. UGH! Sure hope Miss is feeling better when she wakes up...I laughed when I pictured her jumping in the pool..clothes and all. What joy to be a kid! Guest guest
: Your post made me smile. I can picture your little girl jumping in...clothes and all. I normally share e-mails with Hannah, but I think I'll keep this one to myself. We just opened our pool yesterday (we live in WI) and I don't wan't to give her any ideas. LOL. Guest guest
, I know this is late but my hard drive killed itself around the 12th of May and trying to play catch up without reading all 600+ e-mails. Hot and cold haven't been a proven culprit but the rise and fall in barometric pressure has been. I can't remember which is which but can only assume when the pressure rises the pressure inside the joints rises and when the pressure falls the pressure inside the joints fall. I haven't read your intro yet and I would remember a princess with JRA and spondy but just know it can take quite a while to the find the right med/meds and dosages to bring consistant long lasting relief. I know all to well that with young ones you worry more then if they were older but the harder and quicker you attack Arthur the less likely Arthur will permenately attack you child. My warrior will be 8 July 24th and has been sick now for 5 yrs with a tentitive diagnosis June 22nd 2001 after only 21 days from onset,it took another 3 weeks to make it official. His miricle coctail was 25mg MTX subq,200mg Plaquenil daily,300mg Ibuprofin 3xdaily,pred dose ranging from 30mg to 6mg and 25mg Enbrel subq 1xweekly. He now and has been for ages takes 12.5mg MTX oral, after coming completely off and having troubles, and 25mg Enbrel subq and thats it.He gets shin pain at night quite often but a 200mg Motrin knocks it right out and if I don't give he still wakes up just fine. I wish you and your little JRA/Spondy child some much welcome relief. Hugs Becki and 7 systemic
