Guest guest
Nicks remicade infusion went MUCH better at the new clinic. It took longer (1 hour for the meds to come up) but in the grand scheme of things a much better fit for us. The nurse was an older lady and did a fantastic job with Nick. She thinks Nick looks like a young Tom Hanks and had all the nurses on the floor taking a look. Nick doesnt have a clue who Tom Hanks is and just laughed at all the fuss. I am so proud of my boy, he had the iv started with no emla, just a heating pad before hand and he didnt even blink. So, i guess we are done with emla!, one less RX to pay for. We also had xrays done today of his hands and knees ( his two main areas of pain) it will be interesting to hear how they look. He has only had one set of his hands done and that was right at Dx. Im interested to see all this " bony overgrowth' the doc is talking about. The doctor also mentioned trying humira if the remicade doesnt control better. Im not ready to give up on remicade yet. It really is a wonder drug for Nick for a good 3 weeks, we just have to try and get these infusions at 4 weeks apart, we seem to always end up 5 weeks out and thats not working. It was a long day, we left home a little after 7am this morning and did not get hom till 4pm... See all you Minnesotans at the family networking group tomorrow )) hugs Helen and (8,systemic)
