Hi, I just had my gastro/hepatologist appointment and all liver function labs

were normal except for 1:140 for AMA (a lot better than 1:1280). It took 6

months on THREE Urso Forte to do this.

However I still have muscle cramps--I can't believe it but the soap under my

fitted sheet near my feet must be doing something because I didn't suffer from

cramps in my feet at night this week!

So YES, you can have muscle cramps with normal liver function labs.

That is interesting...did the find the cirrhosis from a biopsy? I don't want to

have another one. The last one kept me in the hosptial overnight...I don't want

that again! Thank you for letting me know.

Debbie,

Sounds like another idiot doctor response. Muscle cramping can be caused

LOTS of different things.

If everyone who gets night cramps have

cirrhosis..........................????? etc.

Low magnesium levels, low calcium levels, low potassium levels all can

lead to cramps.

Sure would like to see your numbers lower than they are, but that can

come with time and

continued use of proper meds.

I'll try to remember to send you a reminder about the chat, but no

promises, heehee.

Do you take prednisone? I

do and it can cause muscle

cramps.

My liver is cirrhotic and I've never had a biopsy. The doctors were able to

confirm this through an abdominal MRI, CT Scan and sonogram. My labs have been

in the normal range for 2 1/2 years. I didn't have muscle cramping until this

summer when I started to wear sandals that were more stylish than comfortable.

Sadly, the damaged tissue cannot regenerate but the remaining healthy tissue can

remain that way for many, many years.
