What does it taste like? I know someone who mixes it with sea salt and

uses it as a facial scrub.

Red palm oil is a beautiful orange color and it has a strong flavor. I

don't know how to describe it, it's sorta earthy and warm. Exotic. It's

an unusual taste, but pleasant. I like it with chicken so far. I

haven't used it for very long. Probably would go well with fish and any

meat; and most vegetables.

Either way, really, you can eat it raw, or you can cook with it. It

takes cooking well, I fry onions in it and add it to the chicken soup.

You can use it like coconut oil.

I don't know a whole lot about it, I've only used it a short time.

You mean you cook the chicken in it? Or spread it on the chicken after

it has been cooked?

I've used the red palm oil to make a dish called " arroz con pollo "

which is a chicken and rice dish. The rice is browned in oil first

and then water add to cook, some vegs and spices added along with

cooked chicken added just before serving. It's very good made with

this oil.

We use it for things that we don't want to have the coconut taste in. Frying

french fries etc. It stains clothing very badly so be careful. Also, I've had

gastric bypass three years ago. Oils and sugars are a big no no. VCO gives me

no problems, I can eat it by the tablespoon full and do. However there is

enough of a different chemical structure to Palm Oil to cause me difficulty with

my stomach. Minorly, but I do have to be careful with the frequency and the

amounts I consume.

Apparently it's popular in Africa for eating and curing disease. It

has Vit A and E in it and is not sweet like coconut oil. Anybody have

experience with it?

We recently moved to the Republic of Panama and I'm able to purchase VCO here in

the open market. It's not traditional wet milling, but I watch as they grate

and exctract it from the copra. Does anyone know the process for extracting the

red palm oil and a link to pictures of the tree so I can identify the tree if it

is here. I would be interested in finding some as we use both.

coconut oil from Bocas and was very un impressed. It had a smoky odor and was

brownish.Have you found a better oil ?

No I have not. But I've not had my feet on the ground a week yet. So give me a

bit to do my research and I'll either teach someone to find someone. I'll keep

you posted.

Regards!

Hi Bee, I was just on the radiant life website, and came across red

palm oil. I don't know very much about this fat. Is it an

antifungal, like coconut oil? It is said to be rich in cartenoids and

vitamin e. Have you ever tried it?

lots of luv
