Guest guest
Hi Ann, Which good fats have you been ingesting, may I ask? I am most interested in this. Smiles, Re: Fwd: [-NS] A List for Gluten Free Flours Hi steve, More questions ...for you, Frances or anyone who knows. Interesting - Where does it say to reduce fat like this??? I have been reading Weight Management material from Greg (formerly with Dr. D) and he encourages eating more of the good fats in order to lose weight...he says we must have adequate " good fat " at every meal because fats trigger the satiety signal in the body. I have increased my fats substantially and find I no longer need to work at keeping weight down. I would like to know more about weight loss and seaweed broth - I was unaware of any connection between caocium and weight loss. I rather thought that the effect of seaweed was that it stimulates the thyroid. Also wonder how it helps with the metabolism of lipids. NOTE: I've lighten up in the use of oils, allowing myself 2 tsps. per day or less. The Foreman Griller has been a great help. In my recipes you will begin to see this too. For anyone interested in losing weight, start drinking Seaweed Broth, for its high in usable calcium, which accelerates weight loss. Plus the Stinging Nettle Infusion, will help eliminate water retention. Seaweed is a gut greaser. Seaweed provides a multitude of gifts to the digestive system: soothing, disinfecting, and nourishing distressed surfaces, helping out with the metabolism of lipids, and maintaining a healthy balance of digestive yeasts and bacteria in the intestines. Guest guest
Good fats are fats from fish especially and olive oil. Guest guest
Don't forget flax oil/ground seed. Add to that seeds and nuts...especially walnuts for me....but make sure they have been refridgerated and are very fresh...very easy for them to go rancid quickly and this puts a tremendous strain on the body....they are the most fragile oil/nut. Also the fat in egg yolk is very good for weight management. Avocado for me as a nonnie is very beneficial... Greg K recommends it for everyone. More later when I have time. Guest guest
I have some questions. What about fat from grass-fed animals? Has anyone read about the importance of animal fat? Such as at www.westonaprice.org or http://menshealth.about.com/cs/highproteindiets/ , I know the latter link is on a men's health site, but wouldn't a healthy fat be a healthy fat, regardless of gender? What is saturated fat? Is it good? Bad? What would make it good if it is, or bad if it is? Are animal fats *really* bad, or good? Is this a complex issue? Or not? Is there any propaganda/misinformation on the issue of fat in the Industrialized nations' diet? Anyone with low-carb experience geared for weight-loss remember why protein and fat increase satiety more than... say... carbs? Which causes more oxidation to metabolize (metabolize meaning to " break down and utilize as energy for the body " ): lipolysis or glucolysis? Do cancer cells thrive in a ketone-body environment, or a sugar environment? > Re: Fwd: [-NS] A List for Gluten Free Flours > > > Hi steve, More questions ...for you, Frances or anyone who knows. > > Interesting - Where does it say to reduce fat like this??? Guest guest
I'm new and have read a lot about good fats and stories who got better eating lots of good fats. So that gives me confidence in this diet. I just don't know how much fat I'm supposed to eat. I've been using the egg drink to get fats. I put 2 tablespoons of both coconut oil and butter in it. But other than that, do I need to eat any more tablespoons of either with each meal or throughout the day? I seen a story where a guy was looking concentration campish emaciated and was eating like a pound of raw butter every day with meat and gained a lot of weight. He was so skinny he gained like 80 pounds and after 6 months started detoxing which he said was 2 weeks long of throwing up, diarhea, etc. That's where I wanna be. I want this toxic crap outta me. Guest guest
Hi , That's a good attitude to have! I'm sure you will do your fair share of detoxing. Keep in mind that this diet is about increasing your immune system so that it can 'make' the candida change back into a friendly entity in your body. Bee is always reminding us that weight is not an indicator of health. See this article to help with your Protein-Fat-Carb calculations: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/foods8.php > > I'm new and have read a lot about good fats and stories who got better eating lots of good fats.
