Re: Coffee destroys good bacteria?

Hi

I don't know about what coffee does for most people, but I can say that

it doesn't do anything good for my body. I get constipated and I get a

rash on my hand (for a few hours only, but always in the same place), so

I have reluctantly decided that coffee is definitely out for me. Each

person must see what works for them, of course.

Coffee destroys good bacteria?

Ok, I was looking up on the internet anything about candida die off

etc, and I read this on one of the webpages -

DID YOU KNOW?

Do you drink coffee? Just one cup a day of either caffeinated or decaf

can kill a considerable number of good bacteria in the colon. It can

take a body that is moderately healthy up to five hours to replace this

destroyed flora in the intestinal area. With more cups of coffee there

will be more destroyed flora.

I don't know what any of you think of that, but I don't like the sound

of it and whether it's totally accurate or not, I don't think I'll be

going near coffee!

I have heard that there is a lot of mold on coffee but wouldn't the brewing

kill it?

I do have reactions to coffee, but I figured it was more of a histamine

thing.

, the contention that coffee kills good bacteria is without

basis; another candida myth.

The acidity of coffee is about 1000 times lower than what's already in

the stomach.

The caffeine is all absorbed before it gets far into the upper

intestine let alone the lower.

A couple of cups is probably good for most people; coffee contains two

compounds that increase the enzyme that allows the liver to detoxify.

Thanks everyone for your comments on the coffee. Not sure what I

believe, but I myself do not react well to it when I drink it...not

sure what's up with that.
