Shift,

Although I had IV Rocephin back in 2001, it is hard for me to say what is

happening, but I can tell you that I was on Levaquin after my IV & it really

helped all my symptoms a lot! You may notice that you have tendon issues while

on it. If so, make sure you tell your doc. Some people have had to stop it, I

was able to just grin & bear the occasional tendon problems since I wanted to

stay on it & they all disappeared when I went off of it. Unfortunately, not

everyone has been that lucky so just let your doc know if anything develops. I

hope that helps a little.

Good luck!

I have been on IV rocephin for 9 weeks without any improvement or any

Herx. I am concerned it isn't doing anything and my depression,

anxiety is bad. I am going to start Levoquin as I may have bartonella

and I am told it also works for Mycoplasma pneumonia. I wonder what

would be a good third antibiotic which would do the opposite of the

rocephin so I can hit the lyme both in the cell and as well hitting

the cell wall? ALso what do you think it means that I have seen no

herx and no improvement with the rocephin after 9 weeks? Is this

possibly to short a time or is this a sign I should change

antibiotics? I really appreciate the imput!

Jeannie & Shift

I too am on Levaquin for Bartonella and my neuro symptoms are getting

better. As I have stated before, many antibiotics leach magnesium out of

your system so they need to be regularly replaced with a supplement,

else you can get tendonitis. My doc started me on magnesium two weeks

before the antibiotic and all I have noticed is a few twinges in my calf

muscles.
