NAC - possible reaction (?)

I just remembered my naturopath put me on NAC last year for symptoms of a

sinus infection (600 mg 3x daily). About a week later I got a bad case of

abdominal bloating and unbelievably gross smelly gas (sorry) that lasted over a

month

(very unusual).

When it occurred to me it might be the NAC I asked my naturopath about it.

She said NAC has a sulphur component, so it was possible that was causing the

gas, though not likely.

She also said those symptoms can be caused by FOS (which means something like

" fructo-oligo-saccharides " - sp?) which are in some probiotics. I stopped the

NAC anyway, and my symptoms did eventually clear up.

I was also going into a pretty bad flare-up, so it probably wasn't the NAC.

Just curious, though - has anyone had this happen with NAC?
