Re: Hives-Has anyone seen this from chelation?

Doesn't sound like dmsa. It is not noted for causing this. Likely it

is something he ate or was exposed too. My sister had chronic issues

with hives and it can be anything from food related to laundry soap

to as in her case playing on a wooden swing set (seems that antimony

causes a rash with direct contact). Obviously not the case here. But

I would lean towards the pineapple. How old is he?

Food allergies do not always come up the first time you have a food,

but usually the second time. So if he has pineapple last year and

did ok, then not ok this time. That is characteristic.

This really sounds like pineapple allergy.

Thanks for the replies!!

My son is 39 lbs. It now looks like more like big red patches on

his chest, neck, belly and other spots. There are spots spread

around as well. He is so itchy. Would activated charcoal help with

this possibly? It started out looking like little round welts like

a bite and has moved into patches, does this sound right? I am just

wondering if I should take him into the Dr. I know there isn't much

they can do for hives but wait it out, but since it looks so red and

patches, I am wondering if it is something else like shingles or

something. He doesn't seem to be in any pain, just itchy. He is

playing as usual.

Any idea how long this lasts for those of you have experienced it?

I would take him to a doctor to diagnose what it is. Every time

something like this happened with my daughter the doctor wanted to

actually see the spots when they were happening so that they could

decide between hives, contact dermatitis, other possibilities.

My daughter had many episodes of hives while she was growing up.

Sometimes they lasted 24 h, sometimes one week. The pediatric

allergist said it could be from something she ate, something her skin

came in contact with or something she breathed in. It was usually a

detective game, and it helped to have some detective doctors to talk

it over with.

You could try NAET to identify and treat allergies. Was it fresh or canned

My son broke out twice with the rash you describe. Both times it

was DMSA while chelating. I ended up cutting the DMSA dose in half

for the other rounds and he was fine after that. Rae
