fwiw, for years, I thought the stretch marks my daughter had were from weight

variance. They were far beyond what I had w any pregnancy. Sometimes they were

very purple; other times more white. Usually they were on sides of hips and

trunk going vertically. The 'stretch mark' theray was called into question when

she tested weakly positive for Lyme. Lyme usually has some coinfections along

with it-bartonella being one of them. These marks mimic what has happened here.

not changed. Actually he is eating less than before as he is also on vancomycin

which reduces his appetite. I have cut down his carbs even more but he is

gaining weight so rapidly that he got stretch marks on his thighs and buttocks.

We are keeping him physically active also. Anyone with the same issue?

is - i was going to mention this as well. Lyme can also cause weight gain by causing metabolic and/or hormonal issues.RuthSent from my iPad

Is the weight gain this rapid with lyme or bartonella? My son is being evaluated

for adrenal hyperplasia as he is showing signs of androgen excess. The stretch

marks could be from rapid weight gain but adrenal issues make you predisposed to

stretch marks. The images you shared looked exactly like stretch marks but I am

gonna read more about them tonight to see if my kid's clinical picture fits.

Thanks for sharing. Ruth, has your kid gained weight on valtrex? My son was on

generic and I will be getting the branded valtrex but I found several comments

on branded valtrex causing weight gain. I am just trying to rule out all the

possibilities. Adrenal issue is at the top of my list and now I will read up on

lyme and weight gain.

Stretch marks, especially purple ones are likely from bartonella.
