Hi,

All this talk and action around omega 3's etc has made me think about my own

circumstances. I have two boys who are profoundly deaf with CI. My youngest, (6)

who received the earliest intervention has not really started to talk yet and i

am pretty sure he is apraxic. My eldest (8) might have some apraxic issues but

it could just be that he spent the first 4 years of his life hearing nothing,

so, he's still catching up.

Anyway, i realised the big difference (if you can call it big) between their

pregnancies was that prior to the eldest being conceived i was on evening

primrose for two years. This was because i had such tender breasts before my

period and it really helped ease the pain.

After my first son's birth I didn't get breast pain (well not that kind!!! LOL)

and in fact i didn't start getting it again until five years after my second son

was born. So, when i conceived my youngest i hadn't taken eveing primrose oil

for a year or more.

So, I've been getting the breast pain for the last year and been taking evening

primrose oil on and off. Which combined with the talk about omega has made me

think. We've also been considering a third (I'm currently off the idea but you

know hormones and women changing their minds!). If we do decide i really want to

make sure I am tanked up with evening primrose oil.

What do you think? possible connection? I know that the boys condition is

genetic but I could never understand why Rory, with the earliest intervention

has struggled to talk and was different from his brother. To think when he was

born we thought it would be easier having had one deaf child already!

I'm now off to look for real vitamin E!

Regards

michelle
