Hi Cap'n,

That's why we have a poll going on, we trying to see if we can follow

a trail. It can't help us other than to hopefully discover a common

link but once discovered it may serve to help others avoid the

pitfalls leading to MS!

Maybe it's an exercise in futility but judging from all my reading of

the types of research being done I've not seen any evidence of anyone

clammoring to find it's etiology, most research appears to be pointed

at medication to slow it down once diagnosed. D'OH, seems a bit

bassackwards donchya think? It's certainly worth a try! If not them,

then us!

Back to my gathering, take care,

Gigi

GIGI,

THERE IS INFO BEING GATHERED BY MSQR. MS SOMETHING

RESEARCH. SORRY, SWISS CHEESE MS BRAIN HERE. I'VE BEEN

FILLING OUT THEIR VERY DETAILED QUESTIONNAIRES SINCE

MY DX. THERE IS A STUDY GOING ON AT U OF CA SAN FRAN I

BELIEVE TRYING TO IDENTIFY FAMILIES WITH MS. MY SISTER

WON'T DO IT THOUGH EVEN THOUGH I'M #4 TO BE DX'D IN MY

FAMILY. SO THEY ARE FINALLY TRYING I GUESS. NOT SURE

WHY THESE STUDIES ARE BEING DONE THOUGH. JUST THOUGHT

I'D LET YOU KNOW.

MS QUARTERLY REPORT. JOINT EFFORT OF NARCOMS AND

UNITED SPINAL ASSOC. MSCARE IS WHERE IT IS ON THE WEB.

JUST DO A SEARCH FOR MSQR AND YOU'LL GET IT.

HOPE THIS HELPS. IT/THEY DON'T ASK THE STUFF WE DO

THOUGH LIKE ABOUT AUTOIMMUNE DISEASES RUNNING IN

FAMILIES N ALL. HOPE THIS HELPS.

-Hi Donna,

I didn't know anything about that! I meant our own poll, I thought it

was known. I'll put it up in here if that's ok. Just a few of us

were talking about it and questions were devised, a layout was

arranged and now there are at least 30 some odd questions and we hope

to have anyone who has ideas to submit more possible questions to it.

As I said, it is only because we were talking about MS onset a couple

of weeks ago and I wondered if anyone had an idea about when their's

began. It blossomed from there and we decided to see if there were

any common factors. The only way to determine that is by asking

various questions whose answers may or may not end up similar. If

there is a trail to follow we may be on to something. It doesn't hurt

to try.

I am the only one in my family with MS, I am aware there are other

contributing factors, viral, trauma, environment, etc., and so the

poll was started from our curiosity.....we have to be proactive!

Thanks for the information, take care,

Gigi

GIGI, I'D LOVE TO SEE YOUR POLL. :) I HOPE YOU DIDN'T

TAKE IT AS CRITICISM FROM ME CUZ IT WASN'T. JUST

TRYING TO SHARE INFO. I RESEARCHED A TON WHEN MY SIS

WAS DX'D CUZ I WAS IN COLLEGE AND HAD ACCESS TO

PROFESSORS BRAINS. THEN I RESEARCHED EVEN MORE WHEN I

WAS DX'D. I REALLY WISH WE COULD DETERMINE STUFF ABOUT

THIS DISEASE. LIKE ONSET AND SUCH. I DO RECOMMEND

PEOPLE JOIN MSQR. IT'S QUICK N EASY. THEY HAVE ALWAYS

BEEN HELPFUL WHEN I NEEDED TO CALL AND YOU GET TO LIST

WHAT YOU'VE TRIED. MAYBE ANOTHER WAY TO SPREAD THE LDN

WORD? HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE

SHOULD CONTACT THE MSQR MAYBE OR OTHER MS ORGS. OR LET

US KNOW WHERE TO FIND IT.

THANKS
