I TRIED THE SAME THING...IT DID NOT WORK FOR ME, METH GAVE ME PULMONARY

FIBROSIS, I AM OFF OF IT TO SEE IF IT GOES AWAY. I HAVE BEEN ON ENBREL

INJECTIONS OF 25 MG PER WEEK FOR 12 INJECTIONS = 6 WEEKS. IT IS JUST NOW

GETTING BETTER, THE STIFFNESS AND PAIN, NOT GONE BUT NITICEABLE INPROVES. VERY

EXPENSIVE AND IF THE INSURANCE EVER STOPS PAYING I AM BACK TO THE TIN PERSON.

GOOD LUCK TO YOU...I KNOW ABOUT THE CAP WHEN TYPING BUT THIS WAY I DO NOT HAVE

TO SWITCH, AFTER 30 YEARS OLD HABITS ARE HARD TO CHANGE...

Hi All

I am pleased to announce that I have cured myself from the affliction called

morning stiffness!

How did I do it? Well I applied LOGIC to the problem, decided not to get out

of bed until the afternoon!

Love and God Bless

Gillian

Hi Jane

Caps do not worry me as I am not into " Netiquete " . I have a bad enough time

keeping up with the e-mail, learning the universal alphabet codes, B for Bravo,

let alone trying to figure out what :) means.

No I am not on the drugs, gave them up as they seemed to be doing more harm than

good. Lifestyle change, keeping away from infections, stress and 4000mgs of

evening primrose oil is my present and only treatment.

Love and God Bless

Gillian

PS I have to learn the alphabet codes as I talk to my PC!

Is it possible that your morning stiffness is caused by your mattress? I'm

under 30 and when I switched to a $17 air mattress from an inner spring mattress

my morning stiffness went away. When we visit relatives, I get stiff again from

sleeping on a regular mattress.

I don't know. I simply mean I don't leap out of bed like I did as a

teenager. Perhaps " stiffness " is a relative term -- it's not pain,

and it's not in my joints, it's just that I can tell I haven't moved

my muscles for a few hours and I feel like stretching everything out.

I sleep on an all-cotton futon, and have for years.

I forget to say that I agree, PT and a good diagnosis is invaluable.

I have some nasty OA in my back (that I didn't know about for years)

that I get worked on every week. And

every time they have to readjust me cuz me hips are rotated.

The last PT I went to actually had a warm pool in their bsmt for

pool therapy. If you could find one like that it'd be great. Kill

two birds with one stone, so to speak :)

And also, about the Norflex, my OA doc is anti med and told me

I had to get off of it because I'd get ADDICTED (oh, no!) because I

couldn't drive on it (yeah, right) and because it would rebound. So

I went off of it for a couple of days to check the alleged rebound

effect and nothing changed, so I just switched the script over

to my PCP :)

Regarding that list of (arghhhhhh) causes of morning stiffness.

You can tell that the author does NOT suffer from Fibro of he/they would never have written that list of so called causes.

Like , I too eat healthy, do as much movement (I will not name it exercise) as I possibly can. Sleep on a rather expensive matress, stay warm, drink water...... I mean - you name it - I do it to be as mobile and healthy as possible and I STILL creak like an old weather worn gate every morning, sometimes all day for that matter. The list (if I dare say this) is a load of old tripe!

Ah well, I suppose they have to try and garble stuff together to seem as if they understand what they are talking about - so that they can earn some dollars! Just wish they would walk a mile in our shoes once in a while before they put the proverbial in their mouths.

I get off my soap box too now - I need a step ladder and a helping hand to get down, anyone more mobile than I this morning available to assist me (grin).
