, I found the answer. A low monocyte count is

indicative of bone marrow injury, bone marrow failure,

and leukemia. Sucks to be me. Tami

Crap, Mine were low in Feb of 2006. 172 range 200-950. My GP did nothing

and I really didn't ask. At that time I was worried more about my B12 and

thyroid. That was before my AS kicked in. I guess I need to get a panel

run again, it's time again to check my thyroid too.

Let me know if you check your out further and what your doctor says.

Take care,

Kate

Tami,

A low monocyte count doesn't necessarily have to point to anything that

dire, especially if your total WBC is OK.

Exactly how low are your monocytes and what is the range for normal at the

lab?

I can't remember the normal range, but it showed .09L

The reason that I do worry is that my Dad had this

problem and was told not to worry about it, since at

that time the overall wc was fine. He developed

leukemia and died. I can't help but worry, but I am

not dwelling on it. Tami
