Yes, I had the same problem. The intestinal pain doubled me over. I

had to stop taking it before I really knew whether it would do

anything for my RA or not. As it turns out, my RA is severe enough

that both my rheumatologist and I are quite sure it wouldn't have

been the answer anyway, so I'm glad I didn't spend time trying to

tough my way through it.

I know it works well for some people... I have a family friend who

has been on nothing but Plaquinel for years and claims to have

absolutely no pain or stiffness. She also has had no side effects at

all from it. Wish it was that easy for me!<g>

I had the exact reaction. It was horrible. I toughed it out for 6 months and

then developed a body rash. I switched to sulfasalazine and am doing much

better.

Yes, its weird. Can anyone tell me if they have had a similar experience which

has caused you to stop

or temporarily reduce the medicine? Thanks! Dawn

Hello Dawn!

I take Plaquenil no problem, but I only lasted 2 or 3 days on Azulfadine because

I felt like I've been kicked in the gut. If I were you, I wouldn't take it

until after you spoke with your doctor on Monday. My Rheumatologist took me off

of the Azulfadine immediately. I also have a lot of problems taking NSAIDs.

Not taking the Plaquenil for two days won't hurt as it takes awhile to build up

in your system.

HTH,

Lori

[:-/] Hi, I have not really posted much before here, but this I had to

ask about. The doctor is wanting to place me on this med. I have OA

only with Spinal Stenosis, and DDD, Spina bifida etc. My RA tests

always comes out neg. I have flare ups tho with migraines. I have OA

in my feet, ankles etc basicly everywhere. But my left foot is inflamed

, had heat to it. Just found out I had a rib fracture about the time of

some other flare up. I thought it was bone then and was right.

Osteoporosis is what I think is being missed here now. I didn't do

anything to cause a broken rib. I fell down in Jan. But that flare was

in Dec '06. Right side and about where they said the rib is broken.

Questions about the med tho. What does it do for you? I mean I know it

is for the RA and or Lupus or severe Arthritis. Pain? Inflamation?

Lessen any of it.? Could you help me understand this?It is a Anti

Malaria drug correct? Thanks ! Hugs Mommabursitis.
