why would you need to use th albuterol before using the Qvar?? i thought the whole idea of using a different inhaler was so you don't use the albuteral(as much)

Because the albuterol opens the airway more ( from what my allergist tells me) so that the preventative medicine Qvar can work better.Granada Family wrote: why would you need to use th albuterol before using the Qvar?? i thought the whole idea of using a different inhaler was so you don't use the albuteral(as much) melissa Yes I am on Qvar 80mcg and it is an inhaler. Thanks, I took beconase many years ago. I believe the original poster wondered why they were supposed to use albuterol wait 15 minutes and then use Qvar. My guess would be to open up the bronckial tubes /lungs to absorb the qvar Sharon

Qvar is the trade name for beclomethasone, a corticosteroid used in

the treatment of asthma. It has the smallest particle size of all the

inhaled corticosteroids available. This, in theory, should mean that

the mist of the inhaled medication should make it to the lungs easier,

since the smaller particles will facilitate a larger surface area,

according to my pharmaceutics teacher at school.
