Hi ,

An ENT and my family doctor also recommended using the

distilled water and salt solution. In this case, I am

inhaling it for my sinuses. ENT advised me to boil the

water first. He also advised using distilled. Tap

water can contain Pseudomonas, etc. Anyhow, it has

been a big help for my sinuses. I add salt and baking

soda to the water. My GP prescribed a nasal steroid

inhaler, Beclomethasone to be taken after inhaling the

water solution. He told me to use a Styrofoam cup

(side is cut out in a rounded shape - shown to me by

my GP). Bacterial infections in my sinuses had been

ending up in my lungs. After doing this since late

January the number of sinus infections is down

considerably.

Whenever I have a sinus headache I also use my

percusser over the sinuses and then place a hot pack

on my head. Frontal sinuses present are my worst.

Would like to try a nasal nebulizer, but have not been

able to find one in NS. Perhaps it needs to be

specially ordered. For the time being, the above

method is working fine, and it cost pennies to do.
