It's great to be here. My story is very long so I'll be short as I can. Been on ssri's for nearly 15 years. Pretty much lost 15 years of my life due to the numbing effects from what these meds do. I can go on with the side effects but I'll spare you all. Currently, I am nearly off my celexa(the last of many ssri's I'v been on) after nearly four years of withdrawling. I am now becoming a normal person again with normal feelings and emotions. But one thing which is still concern is my sexual funtioning. As we all know these meds play HAVOC with this. I am still amazed from what we know now that any of these drugs are still on the market. Oh well, buyer beware I guess? The truth is now starting to get out there now. I just wished I would of known about the downside of these meds before I took my first Prozac.

It's a shame that many of us had to go through all this. Anyways, I am very happy I found this group and look forward to sharing and learning from others.

Peace

Hi , I have sympathy for you about loving the brother more. Sigh, with my

3 sons I think they each thought I preferred another. I know at times I would

hear " you don't love me " or " like me " and that I did love " X " etc. And, LOL,

really never got punished because he never did anything, no behavior

problems. So I guess usually they figured it was I loved the most since

the other 2 sons had their share of punishments.

Lots here have tried or are using supplements. I will say what works for one

person may or may not work for another. Can just " try " . We used inositol

powder for about 3 years, did well on it. That was when my son was in middle

school. He's 20 now. Tried it again a couple times since middle school and

won't touch his OCD this time. But others have felt it helped, then others have

had no response.

We tried the St s Worth this past year for...gee, I'd say 16 weeks or

more.... 900mg a day. No luck there for us. To shorten my story, these last

couple years or more we have tried LOTS of things (besides prescription) and

nothing has touched my son's OCD or the anxiety it brings. But that doesn't

mean what we tried hasn't helped someone else!

We haven't tried any Native Remedy products but some here have and are using

them.

was on Celexa in 9th and 10th grades, he did well on that. But he

doesn't want to go back on medication, so have been trying other things.

Have you looked at any of the books for children about OCD?

throughout the day and says that she can't stop and its driving her crazy. She

also has anxiety and anger control issues, especially with her 4 year old

brother. She has started cognitive behavior therapy and I am giving her

supplements of St. 's wart, primrose oil and valerian root, which I

researched as the homeopathic
