He never mentions it once in Precision Nutrition, not that I saw.

Separating carbs and fats is certainly not one of the foundations of

the program. Plenty of his suggested meals include things like oats

and flax, chickpeas and olive oil, peanut butter and bananas.

Interesting....that isn't the impression I get from the articles on

his website. There's even an example day which does the carb & fat

separating. Thanks for the answer.

If you look at his 7 Habits of Highly Effective Nutrition Programs:

http://www.johnberardi.com/articles/nutrition/7habits.htm

that is the basis of PN. Although he adds three more habits:

- plan ahead and prepare feedings in advance

- eat as wide a variety of good foods as possible

- plan to break the rules 10% of the time.

No mention of deliberate carb/fat separating as part of the program.

Although, plenty of the meals do work out that way. Because you're

only eating starchy carbs post-workout, and you don't generally want

fat post workout, especially if you take creatine.

Maybe it would fall into the tricks and tweaks category once you start

individualizing the program (if you ever need to). I don't remember

what I was reading where he had me laughing out loud, something about

" unless you're trying to get lean enough to see your ovaries " . Maybe

it falls into that category. :-)

The thing is he tweaks his basic program for individual situations a

lot, so maybe the carb/fat separating is for a particular tweak

felicity

Anything that promotes Bananas a PB, I'm in.

So my annoying question is this:

Whats an adviseable PN snack before bed

at say midnight, when I'm going to sleep by 2am??

This is my weakest deal-breaker meal of the day.

I need help deciding on something that satisfies

and doesnt make me hungry at 3am, waking me up.

thanks!

P.S. I have been upping the Veg content to something like

4 cups (cucumbers, brocc, caulif, carrots and tomoatoes)

BIG difference in appetite control

and BM reliability!!

Thanks! SO, Ive tried chocolate whey and 0% greek yogurt (gaaaack!)

I switched the whey to a vanilla flavor (Optimum Nutrition), added

cinnamon and fake sugar and VOILA! I got creme:0)

its especially good with a cut up peach, wow.

Ive tried chocolate whey and CC, and cant do it :0(

I DO love choppin my veggies, storing them in ziploc sandwich bags

for grab-n-go individual cold salads. I add korean pickles and

seaweed to them instead of dressings.

And I love Etana's idea of storage containers all using the same

sized lids...thats got a future in the marketplace.

ITS TOO HOT TO COOK! anyone else with one step ideas??

:-p
